New Music: Jordy ‘Breakup Sex’

Out singer/songwriter JORDY drops his latest pop single, “Breakup Sex,” a confessional account of an unpredictable relationship dynamic. “When I wrote ‘Breakup Sex,’ I was in this up and down, rollercoaster of a relationship,” Jordy shares in a press statement. “Sometimes it felt like we loved each other, sometimes it felt like the opposite.” “All of our fights always ended in the same way, which kept us together because we kept coming back for more. It felt like this cycle that I needed to put an end to,” he adds. “It’s important to remember that sometimes, the physical connection isn’t what makes a relationship healthy, but keeps it addicting.” One of the top-tier artists in queer pop music, Jordy’s impressive vocal range is front and center here, and the tattoo-themed lyric video is definitely cool. The talented artist kicked off a 15-city tour this weekend – check his official website for details. Since his 2018 breakout  single“Just Friends,” Jordy has earned over 60 millions streams on Spotify alone, appeared on stage at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Firefly, OUTLOUD at WeHo Pride, and Bottle Rock, as well as on NBC’s TODAY and The Kelly Clarkson Show. During his ascent, he’s been honored with nominations at the GLAAD Media Awards (Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist), the iHeartRadio Music Awards (Social Star), and the Queerty Awards (Favorite Music Video [“i get high”] + Best Anthem [“Story of a Boy”]). Check out my previous coverage of his music here.
