CNN has fired prime-time anchor Chris Cuomo for his less-than-transparent involvement in the defense of his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
A statement from CNN noted that Chris Cuomo had been suspended earlier this week when new information came to light via a document dump regarding information gathered during the investigation into the former governor.
The news network had retained “a respected law firm” to review those documents. During that review, “additional information” had come to light. And thus, the termination.

Chris Cuomo responded to the news saying, “This is not how I want my time at CNN to end but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother.”
“I could not be more proud of the team at Cuomo Prime Time and the work we did as CNN’s #1 show in the most competitive time slot,” added Cuomo.
