Actor and producer Channing Tatum has heard the call of women everywhere, clamoring for more Magic Mike. Next spring, their dreams will come true as Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas will become the permanent home of Mike Lane, America’s favorite handyman-turned-stripper, with MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS – a complete re-imagination of the male revue based on the hit movies “Magic Mike” and “Magic Mike XXL.”

Currently anticipated to open for preview performances in March 2017, MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS will recreate the mythic Club Domina with a sizzling 360-degree dance and acrobatic strip tease spectacular, guaranteed to bring on the heat.

The experience starts as you enter Club Domina, a real life version of the club at the foundation of “Magic Mike XXL,” where men cater to women’s desires. The fully re-envisioned cabaret nightclub space will be unlike any other in Las Vegas with three elaborately designed bars, an integrated stage and seating for 450 guests. Expressly created to capture the magnetism of a film franchise that has grossed nearly $300 million, this new venue and its immersive production will be one of the most unique entertainment experiences in Las Vegas.

In a show that happens in front of, behind, above and all around the audience, a dozen of the hottest and most talented men in the country will bring Mike and his crew to life through sexy and daring themed dance and strip routines, each punctuated by one-of-a-kind acts from a wildly diverse cast of performers.

President Obama Will Name Stonewall Inn A National Monument Honoring LGBT History

President Obama is poised to announce the nation’s first monument to gay rights located in Greenwich Village, New York City.

The monument would include the historic Stonewall Inn bar, Christopher Park, a sliver of green space across the street from the bar, and parts of the surrounding neighborhood.

New York’s iconic Stonewall Inn, where the modern gay rights movement took root, will become the first national monument honoring the history of gays and lesbians in the U.S. under a proposal President Barack Obama is preparing to approve.

Designating the small swath of land will mark a major act of national recognition for gay rights advocates and their struggles over the last half-century. Since the 1969 uprising in Greenwich Village, the U.S. has enacted anti-discrimination protections, allowed gays and lesbians to serve openly in the U.S. military and legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.

The gritty tavern, known colloquially as the Stonewall, became a catalyst for the gay rights movement after police raided it on June 28, 1969. Bar-goers fought back, and many more joined in street protests over the following days in an uprising widely credited as the start of large-scale gay activism in New York and around the word. Annual pride parades in hundreds of cities commemorate the rebellion.

The White House declined to comment. Yet Obama has paid tribute to the site before, most notably in his second inaugural address in 2013. In what’s believed to be the first reference to gay rights in an inaugural address, Obama said the principle of equality still guides the U.S. “just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall.”

Justice Department Says North Carolina “Bathroom Law” Violates US Civil Rights Act

The Justice Department has issued a statement saying North Carolina’s recently passed HB2, which prohibits transgender folks from using the bathroom that aligns with their gender identity, violates Title IX, which bars discrimination in education based on sex, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits employment discrimination.

The Justice Department has sent a letter to the governor of North Carolina notifying him that the state’s transgender law violates the U.S. Civil Rights Act, according to a Justice Department official.

House Bill 2, the Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act, puts in place a statewide policy that bans individuals from using public bathrooms that do not correspond to their biological sex. The law also reserves the right to pass nondiscrimination legislation to the state government, saying state laws pre-empt any local ordinances.

Should the ruling be upheld North Carolina stands to lose over $860 million in federal education funds.

State Rep. Chris Sgro, who is also the executive director of Equality NC, issued a statement which said in part, “The letter confirms what we’ve already known – that HB2 is deeply discriminatory, violates federal civil rights law, and needs to be repealed as soon as possible. We’ve already lost $500 million in economic impact and now we are violating federal civil rights law and risking Title VII funding.”

From the letter to North Carolina:

“Title VII prohibits an employer from discriminating against an individual on the basis of sex and from otherwise resisting the full enjoyment of Title VII rights….

“Federal courts and administrative agencies have applied Title VII to discrimination against transgender individuals based on sex, including gender identity….

“Access to sex-segregated restrooms and other workplace facilities consistent with gender identity is a term, condition or privilege of employment. Denying such access to transgender individuals, whose gender identity is different from the gender assigned at birth, while affording it to similarly situated non-transgender employees, violates Title VII …

“HB 2…is facially discriminatory against transgender employees on the basis of sex because it treats transgender employees, whose gender identity does not match their biological sex, as defined by HB2, differently from similarly situated non transgender employees…

Based upon the above, we have concluded that in violation of Title VII, the state is engaged in a pattern or practice of resistance to the full enjoyment of Title VII rights by employees of public agencies…

“Please advise the department, therefore, no later than the close of business on May 9, 2016, whether you will remedy these violations of Title VII including by confirming that the state will not comply with or implement HB2….

John Kasich To Drop Out Of GOP Race For President

Ohio Gov. John Kasich plans to withdraw from the 2016 Republican presidential race on Wednesday, becoming the latest candidate with much-vaunted executive experience to abandon his bid for the White House, according to reports.

Kasich was the final Republican challenger to Donald Trump after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) suspended his campaign following Trump’s victory in Indiana on Tuesday. The only nominating contest Kasich won was in his home state of Ohio, but he had hoped to force a contested Republican convention and earn the nomination there.

Tony Perkins Declares False Win Over Target

According to virulently anti-LGBT activist Tony Perkins, the haters have department store Target on the ropes due to a boycott launched against the super-stores’ policy of allowing transgender customers to use a restroom that aligns with their gender identity.

After more than 1.1 million people pledged to boycott Target, celebrities and corporations alike are having second thoughts about crossing Americans on such a consensus issue. The decision by the retail giant is not only sparking massive backlash, but it’s helping the country get a real picture of the controversy in North Carolina. It’s also shown liberals that without the big media’s cover, twisting the facts of the law, they’re all by themselves.

There’s even more evidence of that this week, as more singers are keeping their concert dates in North Carolina than canceling them. Even more telling, not one business has threatened to leave the state after seeing what happened to the retail giant — which has taken a $2.5 billion hit since letting grown men in women’s restrooms and dressing rooms. After executives announced the change, shares dropped 6 percent in just 10 days.

I’ll note that Target stock is currently trading at $80.01 (at this writing). One year ago today, the stock closed at $79.65.

Hardly bringing Target to it’s knees, is it?

As a matter of fact, I was at Target yesterday buying food and household items. Not only am I a regular customer, but I make  point to go there thanks to the store’s inclusive policies.

So, suck it Perkins.

Of course it is one thing to win a nomination and another to get the 50 million more votes that you need to become President.

Only Trump himself knows if he really thought he could pull this off. He says he did, that the only thing that surprised him, as he said to me months ago, was “how quickly it happened.” No one will ever know if he could have gotten to where he is without the low blows.

But the reason he thinks he can beat Hillary Clinton is because he just put an entire political party out of business. Republican Party. Just put an “i” in the middle. So the initials read this way: R.I.P.

Donald Trump & Bernie Sanders Win Indiana Primaries, Cruz Drops Out

Republican White House hopeful Donald Trump cruised to an easy victory in the GOP Indiana primary last night, and in doing so saw his last real competitor, Sen. Ted Cruz, hit the skids and drop out of the race.

Sen. Bernie Sanders won the Democratic primary over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, but that outcome does little to change the math in the Democratic race due to Clinton’s 280-285 delegate lead. Sanders would have to win 65% of all the remaining delegates to close that gap. And so far, nothing indicates a shift that seismic in the Dem race.

With Clinton and Trump looking more and more like the presumptive nominees for the presidential race, CNN reports Clinton leads 54% to 41%, a 13-point edge over the New York businessman, her largest lead since last July.

Clinton is also more trusted than Trump on many issues voters rank as critically important.

Ted Cruz Drops Out Of Republican Race For Presidential Nomination

After a crushing defeat in the Indiana Republican primary, Sen. Ted Cruz has announced he is suspending his campaign for the presidency.

“Tonight, I’m sorry to say that path has been foreclosed,” Cruz said in a speech Tuesday night in Indianapolis, “but the voters chose another path.”

“We are suspending our campaign,” he added.

As Trump barreled toward the 1,237 delegates required to win, Cruz’s campaign in recent weeks resorted to increasingly desperate measures, mounting a last-ditch effort to win the Indiana primary, one of the only remaining primary states that gave Cruz a chance of winning. But Indiana turned out to be the final nail in the coffin — Trump won handily in the Hoosier State, including among social conservatives, a demographic that in theory favored Cruz.

To reinvigorate his campaign, Cruz last week named former presidential candidate and Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as his running mate, even though candidates typically do not name their running mate until they have amassed enough delegates for the nomination.
