Florida: Orange County Sheriff & Fire Departments Get Down For #KeepDancingOrlando Campaign

It’s all awesome when the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Orange County Firefighters get involved in the #KeepDancingOrlando campaign.

A video posted to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page begins with a mock press conference announcing an “important announcement by Sheriff Demings.”

“We’re here for an important announcement today. I wanna keep Orlando smiling. Keep dancing, Orlando!” Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said before placing a boom box on top of the podium.

“Hit it,” Demings says, and when he presses play, the unmistakable beat for Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” starts to play.

Demings begins to dance first, sliding enthusiastically, and members of the OCSO soon follow suit.

The onlooking crowd, acting as members of the press for the video, cheer and throw up the papers they’re holding to join in on the dancing.

The #KeepDancingOrlando challenge was created to channel positive energy and honor the 49 victims of the mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub on June 12, the OCSO wrote on Facebook.

History: Justin Trudeau Becomes First Sitting Prime Minister To March In LGBT Pride Parade

Toronto Pride Parade kicked off today with a history making moment as Justin Trudeau becomes the first sitting Prime Minister of Canada to march in an LGBT Pride Parade.

This is not Trudeau’s first Pride parade – just his first as Prime Minister 🙂

From the Ottawa Citizen:

Other notable politicians who will march include Ontario’s premier, Kathleen Wynne, and the mayor of Toronto, John Tory.

Before the parade, Trudeau attended an outdoor church service in the heart of the city’s gay village where he sang along to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”

UPDATED – Donald Trump Tweets Then Deletes “Corrupt” Star Of David Image

UPDATE: After Donald Trump’s supporters virulently denied the shape of the star had anything to do with the Star of David, internet sleuths have found that the internet graphic the Trumpster tweeted out actually came from a neo-Nazi/white supremacist chat board.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Donald Trump got into some Twitter trouble again today when he tweeted an image combining a pile of cash, a Star of David and the word “corrupt.”

While the Twitterverse pondered the use of the star – was he making an anti-Semitic joke? –  the Trumpster deleted the image and retweeted the updated image with a circle replacing the Star of David.

An entire library of clip-art shapes and his team picks the Star of David. #Sad.

Music Video: Fergie “M.I.L.F. $ “

Fergie drops her new music video, “M.I.L.F.$,” just in time for the holiday weekend. And just like the July 4th festivities, this one’s pretty hot.

The video is the stuff of 80s sexy rocker vids, but with a lot more style and polish. The song has a killer beat and, per usual for Miss Fergie, catchy chorus.

Huffington Post weighs in:

Taking inspiration from the ‘50s housewife aesthetic, the video finds its setting in “Milfville,” an idyllic neighborhood where moms are supermodels, the milkman belongs in a J.Crew catalogue and everybody seems dairy very intent on pouring milk all over their bodies. You know, typical mom stuff.

“Changing the acronym to Moms I’d Like To Follow is about empowering women who do it all,” Fergie said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “They have a career, a family, and still find the time to take care of themselves and feel sexy. With a wink of course :).”

Some NSFW language.

CNN: No Charges Are Expected In Clinton Email Probe

CNN’s Senior Producer Edward Mejia Davis took to Twitter today to indicate that Hillary Clinton will not be facing charges regarding the use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State:

While the Hillary haters will immediately begin shouting “conspiracy” and “cover-up” headlines, the fact is for months legal experts have predicted that there would be no charges filed.

Hillary has said from the outset of the email server issue that what she did was not against the law – it may have been against policy, but that doesn’t mean it was against the law. The email server itself was not a legal issue. The question being investigated was any information that was at the time labeled “classified” knowingly or willfully transmitted? Clinton has said over and over that she never sent or received classified information via her private email.

It is notable that some of the information sent and received by Clinton was deemed “classified” after the fact. But that doesn’t mean she broke a law.

From Mediaite:

During an unexpected interview hit on MSNBC this evening with Chuck Todd, Clinton herself was asked about the reports that she would not face charges. “As we were talking, there are news reporters that indicate no charges may be brought against you and a final decision in a couple weeks,” said Todd in the waning seconds of the hit.

“Chuck I am not going to comment on the process. I have no knowledge of any timeline. This is entirely up to the Department,” said Clinton, who voluntarily sat with the FBI this morning for 3.5 hours as part of their final stage of the investigation into the possible violation of the law and the handling of classified material.

Cubs Pitcher Jake Arietta Goes Naked For ESPN 2016 Body Issue

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arietta looks spectacular on the cover of the 2016 ESPN Magazine Body Issue

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arietta looking all kinds of awesome in the all together on the cover of this year’s ESPN Body Issue.

Arietta explains, though, that he had to trim down for the shoot as his normal state is pretty hirsute.

From the Chicago Tribune:

“I’m extremely hairy,” the Cubs ace says in the annual photo spread featuring athletes in the nude. “It pretty much connects from the top of my head to my toes with a nice upper body sweater/track jacket type of thing. I’m shaved right now. The chest is good, the back is pretty solidly shaven.”

“I think the beard plays a slight factor to my presence on the mound. It’s kind of part of the persona now. Everyone in Chicago embraced it, so I got to keep it. I can’t ditch it now. I got rid of it in the offseason and I got some pretty intense reactions. I told them, “Don’t worry, give me two weeks and it’ll be back.”

Hillary Clinton Interviewed For 3+ Hours By FBI On Her Use Of Private Email Server

"Secretary Clinton gave a voluntary interview this morning about her email arrangements while she was Secretary. She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion. Out of respect for the investigative process, she will not comment further on her interview."

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton interviewed this morning by the FBI for 3.5 hours at the agency’s DC headquarters regarding the use of a private email server in her home during her tenure at the State Department.

Most legal experts are of the opinion that criminal prosecution is exceedingly unlikely. The interview today looks to be one of the last steps in the year long investigation.

Just Because – Nyle DiMarco

After winning back to back TV reality shows America’s Next Top Model and Dancing with the Stars, sexually-fluid hottie Nyle DiMarco  has taken a little bit of a sabbatical from the spotlight is seems. Perfectly fine with me as I’m sure he’s already in the works for his next big thing.

I was missing him until my “anonymous Randy Report reader” sent me the above for “Just Because” posting.

Of course, I’m thrilled to see my guy again – and wearing Teamm8 underwear! I know the brand well, and it’s really great swimwear and underwear.  Sometimes, the underwear lines marketed heavily to the gay market can seem a bit made on the cheap. But not Teamm8. Great quality and style.

I think the two make a nice visual, no?

Happy Saturday!

Bill Maher: New Rule – Laboratories of Democracy

In his editorial New Rule, Bill Maher makes the case that, if Republicans are going to call states the “laboratories of democracy,” they first have to stop replicating failed economic experiments.

Maher gleefully points out that California, under a Democratic governor and state legislature, has raised taxes on the wealthy and reversed the state’s financial fortunes. The Golden State is now the 6th largest economy in the world.

Meanwhile, Kansas and Louisiana, doing their version of “trickle-down” economics hoping the wealthy would take tax cuts and energize those state’s economies, are on the financial skids.

North Carolina Legislature Adjourns For The Year Without Fixing Anti-LGBT HB2

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory

The North Carolina legislature adjourned last night without making any meaningful changes to the state’s controversial anti-LGBT law, HB2.

Even with the NBA threatening to move the 2017 All-Star game, and LGBT activists railing against the hateful legislation, the state lawmakers barely did a drive-by tweak to the law.

From the Charlotte Obaserver:

The two chambers also late Friday agreed to make a change to the law known as House Bill 2 as requested by McCrory, who wanted to have restored the right of workers to sue for employment discrimination using a state law. It cleared the House by a vote of 85-15 and 27-14 in the Senate and now goes to McCrory. His office didn’t immediately respond the action.

But the change to House Bill 2, approved in March and the subject of criticism nationally, didn’t repeal provisions that limited non-discrimination rules for lesbians, gays, bisexual and transgender people and directed which restroom transgender people can use.
