Jerry Herman, the man who gave the world such incredible Broadway scores for “Hello, Dolly!”, “Mame”, “Mack & Mabel” and “La Cage Aux Folles” turns 86 today! And is still going strong!
Celebrate this wonderful icon who has given the world such incredible music and Broadway shows. Jerry’s music not only entertains us but reminds us to never let life pass us by.
I have spent some of the most thrilling moments of my theater career being moved by Jerry’s work in a theater. His body of work sends a powerful, positive and beautiful message out to the world. I’m so honored to know Jerry.
Thank you, Jerry Herman, for always reminding us that while we remember our “Song On The Sand”, we need to always get back into life “Before The Parade Passes By.”
I’m thrilled that his beautiful “Hello, Dolly!” is going gangbusters again on Broadway with Bette Midler breaking box office records.
On a personal note, I’ll add that were it not for “Hello, Dolly!” (my first Broadway show as an actor), I’d have never met my husband of 23 years. “Dolly Levi” and Jerry Herman once again brought their musical magic to bear, and I’m all the better for it 🙂
Donald Trump Jr. has agreed to speak to the Senate Intelligence committee but not before lawyering up after the revelation that he met with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Maybe he should have done that before giving different statements about his June 9th meeting last year with Natalia Veselnitskaya?
Fans of MTV’s Teen Wolf get our first look at the final 10 episodes of the hit series in the newly released trailer below.
In the clip it seems several past cast members return for the big finish including Colton Haynes (who hasn’t been seen since season 2), Tyler Hoechlin (last seen season 4), and Charlie Carver (last seen season 3).
In the trailer, war has come to Beacon Hills and Scott (Tyler Posey) and the rest of his supernatural pals find themselves hunted. Naturally, it’s time to call in the cavalry.
“You didn’t think you were doing this without me, did you?” Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) asks his old pal. And he’s just the first of the surprising returns.
“Without us?” a familiar voice asks immediately after Stiles, as the camera pulls back to reveal Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin)—who hasn’t been seen around these parts since season four—standing just outside Stiles’ truck. Cue Scott’s—and our—shocked face.
These final ten episodes pick up with Scott and his pack on the eve of their departure for college, as they discover a new enemy rising in the shadows, which threatens the fate of everything they hold dear. And from the looks of it, Gerard Argent (Michael Hogan) might be at the center of the evil. “Tell him to run,” he offers as a warning for Scott. Uh-oh.
Fans of the show have celebrated the multiple LGBT characters and storylines over five and a half seasons.
Teen Wolf returns to MTV for the final ten episodes on Sunday, July 30 8/7c.
Of course, while Trump seems to trust Putin, the U.S. intelligence community unanimously agrees that it was Putin who ordered the interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.
Many compared teaming up with Russia on cyber security akin to hiring the burglar who robbed your house to develop a home security system.
One day later, Trump appeared to reverse course on the idea tweeting, “The fact that President Putin and I discussed a Cyber Security unit doesn’t mean I think it can happen. It can’t – but a ceasefire can & did!”

President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., has now changed his story twice regarding a meeting that took place last summer at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer who has ties to the Kremlin.
Initially, Don Jr. said he never met with anyone with Russian ties.
Then, after the New York Times brought up meeting with a lawyer named Natalia Veselnitskaya on June 9, 2016, the younger Trump suddenly “remembered” a couple of details.
Junior said he took the appointment not knowing who the meeting was with, and he invited Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner and campaign chairman Paul Manafort.
Two things worth noting there:
• How many meetings does someone like Donald Trump Jr. take without knowing who he’s meeting?
• Why would he invite high-ranking campaign advisers like Kushner and Manafort if he didn’t know who or what he was meeting about?
When he was first asked about the meeting on Saturday, Donald Trump Jr. said that it was primarily about adoptions and mentioned nothing about Mrs. Clinton.
But on Sunday, presented with The Times’s findings, he offered a new account. In a statement, he said he had met with the Russian lawyer at the request of an acquaintance from the 2013 Miss Universe pageant, which his father took to Moscow. “After pleasantries were exchanged,” he said, “the woman stated that she had information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Mrs. Clinton. Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information.”
Remember, all of this revolves around the U.S. intelligence community concluding with “high confidence” that Russia interfered with the election to help Trump win.
In March, Don Jr. denied participating in any campaign-related meetings with Russian nationals. Speaking to the New York Times, he said, “Did I meet with people that were Russian? I’m sure, I’m sure I did. But none that were set up. None that I can think of at the moment. And certainly none that I was representing the campaign in any way.”
In all this time, all this talk about “Russian collusion,” Don Jr. forgot a meeting with a Russian lawyer two weeks after his father became the Republican nominee for president? A meeting with a Russian lawyer with ties to the Kremlin where the lawyer offered “opposition info” about Hillary Clinton? He forgot that meeting?
This morning, Don Jr. admitted via Twitter that he took the meeting knowing it was to receive info about Hillary Clinton.
Obviously I’m the first person on a campaign to ever take a meeting to hear info about an opponent… went nowhere but had to listen. https://t.co/ccUjL1KDEa
That is literally the definition of “collusion.” He met with a Russian lawyer who offered to provide damaging info on Hillary Clinton. That is “collusion with Russia.”
It is certainly normal for political campaigns to gather information about opponents. But not from hostile countries like Russia. Campaigns don’t collect dirt via Moscow.
As political consultant Stuart Stevens reminded today on Twitter, “When Gore campaign was sent Bush debate brief book, they called FBI. If foreign interests offer you info on former Secretary of State, you call the FBI.”
Who among us hasn’t met a Russian lobbyist offering dirt on our enemies as a pretext to talk sanctions, forgotten it, then lied about it?
Fact that Jr confirms this story is huge. If senior staff so readily met with Russians to get bad info on HRC, what ELSE did they do? https://t.co/oBAjMUPJkR
.@DonaldJTrumpJr, you’re admitting that you colluded w/ a foreign govt. Sure, you’ll have your day in court, but, man, you belong in prison. https://t.co/XNHjfSpJEK
Donald Trump was attempting to deflect the heat his daughter Ivanka Trump received for “sitting in” for him at a G20 meeting last week.
The Trumpster first declared that it was “very standard” to have her take his seat, which is actually not true. It would have been “standard” had it been the Secretary of State or similar, but not the First Daughter.
Then, he attempted to assert that Hillary Clinton would have done the same by asking Chelsea Clinton to sit in.
Chelsea, however, responded with a polite but direct message: “Good morning Mr. President. It would never have occurred to my mother or my father to ask me. Were you giving our country away? Hoping not.”

By the way, Chelsea Clinton has a Ph.D. in International Relations from Oxford University. Ivanka steals shoe designs. I think Chelsea sitting at that table wouldn’t bother me.
When I left Conference Room for short meetings with Japan and other countries, I asked Ivanka to hold seat. Very standard. Angela M agrees!
