Barack Obama & Hillary Clinton Recognized As “Most Admired” For 10th Year In A Row

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton

For the 16th consecutive year, Hillary Clinton has been named as the most admired woman in America according to Gallup Polling.

Hillary has been honored with the title 22 times. This year she edged out Michelle Obama by just two points.

Barack Obama clinches his 10th title as the most admired man in America in a row ahead of – who else? – Donald Trump.

Trump is the first U.S. president in the poll’s 71-year history not to win most admired man in his first year in the White House.

Yet another thing to drive the Trumpster crazy…

Royal Wedding Invitations Get Complicated For Harry, Barack & Donald

Problem: what to do when you want to invite your new bestie to your wedding and leave a jerk out of the whole event?

Doesn’t sound complicated, does it?

But if you happen to be Prince Harry and it’s the Obamas you want to invite to your royal wedding and politics between Donald Trump and the UK are a testy topic…?

Harry and fiancée Meghan Markle find themselves in a bind wanting to invite the Obamas to their big day on May 19, but Trump could throw a temper tantrum if snubbed.

From The Sun:

Britain’s relations with Trump’s White House have sunk to their lowest ebb since his election last year.

The property billionaire does not hide his loathing of Mr. Obama and is expected to be enraged if his predecessor gets the coveted call-up when he won’t.

The young Royal couple’s dislike of the new president is well known.

Meghan made disparaging comments about him on social media during his election campaign last year.

There are deep fears among senior Foreign Office and No10 officials that another perceived national snub will make it impossible for Theresa May to meaningfully engage with Trump.

A senior government source said: “Harry has made it clear he wants the Obamas at the wedding, so it’s causing a lot of nervousness.

“Trump could react very badly if the Obamas get to a Royal wedding before he has had a chance to meet the Queen.”

Race Car Driver Lewis Hamilton Shames His 4-Year-Old Nephew For Playing In A Princess Dress

Formula One race car driver Lewis Hamilton stepped in it on Christmas Day when he shamed his nephew for wearing a princess dress.

On a video posted to his Instagram story for his 5.7 million followers, he yelled at the 4-year-old for playing in a princess dress happily waving a wand.

“Why are you wearing a princess dress? Is this what you got for Christmas?” he asked the young boy in the video. “Why did you ask for a princess dress for Christmas?”

When his nephew tells him he’s wearing one because he likes them, Hamilton yells at him.

“Boys don’t wear princess dresses!” he yells.

Folks of the Twitterverse were not having his “toxic masculinity” issues:

Hamilton has since deleted the video and issued this apology:

Tuesday’s Trump Twitter Rant

President Donald Trump

Donald Trump was fairly calm over Christmas Day, sending out a tweet wishing everyone a “great Christmas,” but added “tomorrow it’s back to work in order to Make America Great Again.”

But NBC News reports that Trump headed straight to his golf course this morning.

 “Back to work…”

The Trumpster also took time to take credit for the “repeal” of ObamaCare since the newly-signed tax reform legislation got rid of the Individual Mandate.

Of course, ObamaCare hasn’t been repealed as many components of the healthcare law are still in place like guaranteeing pre-existing conditions, the expansion of Medicaid and allowing young folks to stay on their parents’ insurance to the age of 26.

But, hey, facts are pesky things for the Donald.

Trump also clearly took time out to watch his favorite State propaganda news network, Fox News, where the hosts there must have discussed the “Dossier” calling it “bogus.”

Trumpy is wrong here too as several items in the dossier have been found to be true.

Pentagon Memo Details How Trans Individuals Will Be Processed Into U.S. Military

NBC News reports on a Pentagon memo which outlines in great detail how transgender individuals will be processed into the military using their “preferred” gender versus their identified sex at birth.

A Department of Defense memo dated December 8, 2017, explains that if an applicant’s preferred gender is different than their birth sex, they may present a birth certificate, court order or passport indicating their preferred sex and will be processed into the military under that gender.

Room assignments, height and weight standards, medical exams, underwear requirements, and bathroom assignments will be determined based on the “preferred” gender, even when the individual retains “the anatomical characteristics of their birth sex,” the memo says.

The memo details in great specificity how transgender individuals will operate in the military, including directing that transgender male applicants who have not undergone hormone therapy or surgical changes will wear undergarments “consistent with their physical anatomy” and will be administered pregnancy tests like female applicants undergoing in-processing.

Both male and female applicants who have undergone sex reassignment surgery or genital reconstruction will be disqualified from joining the military unless they have been physically and emotionally stable for at least 18 months.

Applicants may request privacy during the group screening procedures and have chaperones based on preferred gender, not birth sex. In fact, once processed, the only record of a discrepancy between birth sex and preferred gender is a medical history form, DD 2807, maintaining an applicant’s privacy.

“Every applicant will be treated with dignity and respect,” the memo says.

While the Trump White House says it has not exhausted all legal options, the Pentagon has issued a statement saying it will obey recent court orders knocking down the Trump ban.

Transgender individuals will be allowed to enlist beginning January 1, 2018.

Missouri: Out High School Star Athlete Excels, Signs With Indiana State University

Jake Bain

This seems like an amazing coming out story: Jake Bain is not only a star athlete/football player at John Burroughs High School in Missouri but has already signed to play football at Indiana State University next year.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has a great profile of Jake that really celebrates this awesome young man:

Two autumns ago, he scored three touchdowns in the state title game, but on this October day, his senior season ended unceremoniously. So the running back walked off the field, seeking solace in a hug from his boyfriend.

“I did notice that moment, and knowing that was the last game of Jake’s career, I thought, ‘How lucky is Jake for that?’” said John Merritt, the football coach at John Burroughs. “And what does that say about our community, that they can both express themselves without any fear?”

Jake Bain is the best athlete at his high school. He’d be the best athlete at most high schools. As a sophomore running back, he was named the Class 3 Offensive Player of the Year in Missouri. As a sophomore! And after winning the state title, he was selected team captain for his junior and senior seasons. On Wednesday, Jake signed to play college football — he’s headed to Indiana State next year.

Listen to Bain and Hochman talk about his experiences in a podcast

He is openly gay.

“This is a kid who, in every traditionally stereotypical way, would not have been connected to that community,” said John Burroughs head of school Andy Abbott, “but in every authentic way, was and is.”

Jake seems like a really level-headed guy who folks naturally connect to.

It wasn’t all hugs and roses though. Jake endured his share of being called slurs on the football field and at one point he received tons of hateful text messages.

But he persevered and continues to be a leader and role model.

I really encourage you to read the full profile.
