Wisconsin Senate approves bill to force women to undergo ultra-sound before abortion

Chilling behavior in the Wisconsin state Senate

By a party line vote of 17-15 yesterday the Wisconsin state Senate approved a bill requiring women to undergo an ultrasound before an abortion so that “they know they are killing a live baby.”

Democrats demanded further debate but GOP Senate President Mike Ellis (above) screamed, “The vote is non-debatable!” as he broke his gavel.

According the Associated Press, the microphone for the Democratic Minority Leader was then turned off.

As a result of the anti-woman Senate Bill 206:

-a woman who wants to receive an abortion in Wisconsin must first get information from a doctor 24 hours before that abortion

-she must receive an ultrasound. Earlier the requirement was for a transvaginal ultrasound, but an amendment was adopted by voice vote June 11th to allow the ulstrasound of the the woman’s choosing. Link to amendment

-if the ultrasound occurs at a location other than the abortion clinic then the doctor performing it must fill out a form which must be presented to the physician at the abortion clinic

-if the professionals aiding the woman do not properly give information and implement this informed consent procedure they risk a fine of $1,000 to $10,000

-the bill adds new punitive fines if a person successfully sues for liability against the clinic professionals for not exercising the informed consent process properly

If the GOP wanted to actually reduce abortions then improving Sex Ed & making birth control options more readily available would be a better approach.

Caterpillar says no more funds for Boy Scouts while discriminating against adult gay leaders

Caterpillar Inc. has announced it will no longer be donating to the Boy Scouts of America due to the continued ban on adult gay Scout leaders, ABC News reports:

Caterpillar spokeswoman Rachel Potts says Thursday that the Caterpillar Foundation made the decision while reviewing the groups it supports.

“We have inclusive policies here at Caterpillar Inc., and the foundation abides by those,” she said. “We just don’t feel that our two organizations align.”

“However,” she added, “if there’s a change in the Boy Scouts’ policies, we would certainly consider a change in the future grants — if there was a change that aligned with what our non-discrimination policies are.”

Megan Hilty to join Sean Hayes new series on NBC

Yay! This didn’t take long!

Love Megan Hilty and very happy to read that she’s already booked her post-SMASH gig on TV:

Hilty will re-team with Sean Hayes, who guest-starred on Smash, for his upcoming NBC comedy Sean Saves the World, according to TVLine.

On the show, Hayes stars as a dad who must figure out how to parent his 14-year-old daughter (Samantha Isler) while dealing with a temperamental new boss (Thomas Lennon) at work.

Hilty has been tapped to replace Lindsay Sloane as Liz, Sean’s long-time loyal friend and co-worker.

The Scientific Secret to Strength and Muscle Growth

Apparently, the secret to muscle growth is all about myostatin.

Some of us naturally have higher levels of myostatin, which acts as a break on muscle growth at a certain level.

Folks with lower levels are able to continue building muscles larger than those with higher levels.

And no – there are no “myostatin inhibitors” out there just yet.

Sen. Marco Rubio threatens immigration reform if it includes something for “gay couples”

Sen. Marco Rubio promised again today that he will torpedo the current immigration reform legislation that he helped craft if the amendment allowing gay US citizens to sponsor their foreign partners is not removed.

From Yahoo News:

“If this bill has something in it that gives gay couples immigration rights and so forth, it kills the bill. I’m done,” Rubio said Thursday during an interview on the Andrea Tantaros Show. “I’m off it, and I’ve said that repeatedly. I don’t think that’s going to happen and it shouldn’t happen. This is already a difficult enough issue as it is.”

The amendment, introduced by Vermont Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy, would grant green cards to foreign partners of gay unauthorized immigrants who seek legal status under new rules in the bill.

Leahy originally introduced the measure during the Senate Judiciary Committee markup of the bill, but he withdrew it under pressure from Republican lawmakers who said it would reduce the chance of the bill passing.

Sen. Leahy re-introduced his amendment on Tuesday and won applause from several LGBT rights groups.

That being said, I don’t see the amendment surviving the debate and markup process in the Senate. And even if it somehow did survive, the GOP controlled House would never go for it.

So while it’s a nice gesture from Sen. Leahy, I think it’s more symbolic than anything at the end of the day. This won’t be our turn, in my opinion.

Repeal DOMA and the problem goes away.

“Whatever happened to manhood?”

According to Coach Dave, we’ve been “sissified” by gay marriage and feminazis. He seems to think manhood is about something he saw on TV or in the movies.

I think he’s wrong.

Top comments on this video on YouTube:

• “Coach” had better take a look at some of the old Bonanza episodes again. As I recall, Little Joe’s pants were _very_ tight and revealing. Same for the Lone Ranger. Coach should marry Alex Jones. They’d make a lovely couple.”

• “And if you want a great example of solid, responsible manhood, watch the gay male marriage where they adopt a kid, renovate a house, and build a life overcoming enemies all around. THAT’s you manhood.

“If you want a bad example of manhood, look at the straight guy who has a gun, hunting gear, a monster truck, a man cave, who screams at his wife, is shooting pool when he should be home, and doesn’t have a steady job.

“Manhood is about standing up to responsibility, not TV shows.”
