NBC News: Economic Impact Of Gay Cruise Denied Docking In Turkey + Egypt

NBC News reports on gay cruise being denied docking in Turkey and Egypt

NBC News interviewed me for this updated report on the Atlantis Events cruise I traveled on last month being denied docking in Turkey and Egypt.

The incidents are rightfully raising questions about how these policies could hurt their economies as the LGBTQ+ tourism industry booms.

You can check out other interviews I’ve done about the kerfuffle at the New York Times, CNN, and the Times of London.

Some news items I thought worth your time:

Deadline: Boy George has withdrawn from the West End revival of Jesus Christ Superstar just days before he was set to appear in the role of “King Herod,” apparently as a result of the singer’s recent release of a pro-Israel song that disputes the charge of genocide and calls pro-Palestine supporters “sheep.” The song is no longer available online.

Donald Trump said today he may withdraw his nomination of Todd Blanche as attorney general due to lack of support on a vital Senate committee.

Throwback Thursday: Gavin Creel And Aaron Tveit “His Eyes”

Gavin Creel and Aaron Tveit sing "His Eyes" from Jekyll & Hyde

Broadway greats Gavin Creel and Aaron Tveit make me smile so hard at this.

The dynamic duo sing “His Eyes” from the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde in this video throwback I believe is from COVID days.

Gavin (a Tony winner for his performance in Hello, Dolly!) passed away from a rare, aggressive form of cancer at the age of 48 on September 30, 2024, just two months after his diagnosis.

It was recently announced that Aaron is returning to his Tony-winning role in Moulin Rouge for a final, limited 15-performance engagement.

Colin Gray, the father of Georgia teen Colt Gray – who killed four people in a 2024 school shooting – was sentenced today to 15 years in prison in a high-profile legal case testing the limits of who can be held responsible for a mass shooting.

Colin was convicted of murder and manslaughter earlier this year after buying his son an AR-15-style rifle as a Christmas gift and leaving it unsecured — despite warnings the teen was a danger to others.

He is the first parent of a school shooter to be convicted of murder. Continue reading “Father Of Georgia School Shooter Gets 15 Years In Prison”

Donald Trump at Lindsey Graham's funeral (screen cap)

Some news stories I thought worth your time:

Washington Post: Donald Trump attended the funeral of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) praising him as “one of the great figures in Senate history” during a funeral Tuesday at Washington National Cathedral that drew heads of state and much of official Washington.

Trump also, predictably, veered off-script when the prepared eulogy said “everyone liked Lindsey.” “Well, not everybody…” Trump added. Continue reading “Trump At Lindsey Graham Funeral + National Blood Crisis + More”
