Some news items you might missed as we hip-hop over Hump Day:
• OUT: The new drama Blue Film, starring Kieron Moore (above promo photo) and Reed Birney, is officially coming to theaters in May 2026. The movie, considered too “controversial” to play in film festivals like Sundance and SXSW, tells the story of a camboy/sex worker who meets up with a disgraced former teacher.
• New Music: Queer indie pop trio Muna is set to drop their first new album in 4 years titled Dancing On The Wall – due out May 4. Check out the sassy title track below.
• Queerty: After years of begging to get back on TV, Jill Zarin – an original cast member of “The Real Housewives of New York City” – was cast in a RHONY reunion series called “The Golden Life.” But Zarin has now been fired from the show before it’s even started filming due to her racist tirade about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
• The Advocate: The state of Indiana just banned trans people from updating the gender markers on their driver’s licenses, even if they have a court order or medical documentation. Only three other states completely prohibit residents from updating their gender markers on state IDs.
• The Hill: After 88 years, Gallup will no longer measure presidential approval. Gallup’s Presidential Approval Rating has for decades been the among the top barometers cited by media outlets measuring public opinion of the president’s performance.
• NBC News: In a 219-211 vote, the Republican-led House voted today to end President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada as six GOP lawmakers joined Democrats in a rebuke of the administration’s trade policy.
