• Washington Post: The GOP-led Senate Armed Services Committee will investigate reports that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave a spoken order to kill all crew members during the first U.S. strike against suspected drug smugglers in the Caribbean earlier this year.
• Gallup: Donald Trump’s job approval rating has fallen five percentage points to 36%, the lowest of his second term, while disapproval has risen to 60%, according to the latest Gallup polling.
• Deadline: Tom Stoppard, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Shakespeare in Love and 5x Tony-winning playwright (Travesties, The Real Thing, Loepoldstadt), has died. He was 88. His many screen credits Empire of the Sun (1987), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), and Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith (2005).
