Gallup: Pope Leo XIV Most Popular Among Global/National Newsmakers

Pope Leo XIV — the first American pontiff — tops Gallup’s annual poll of top newsmakers and their popularity among 14 national and global figures.

Of the fourteen included in the poll, only two others have positive approval – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Sen. Bernie Sanders.

It comes as no surprise that Donald Trump’s approval rating is in deeply negative territory.

It’s worth noting that the favorability ratings for Trump administration figures – including the Donald himself, VP JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco and former ‘Best Buddy’ Elon Musk – have dropped significantly since January.

Donald Trump’s favorability rating in Gallup’s ongoing polling has plummeted 7 points from 48% in January to 41% in July.

Rubio and Musk have seen the biggest change in their favorability since Trump returned to the White House.

During Trump’s first term as prez it was a regular occurrence to see his approval rating drop and drop.
