In yet another attempt to divert attention from the Jeffrey Epstein files and last week’s disappointing jobs report, Donald Trump says crime in Washington, D.C. is “totally out of control” as he threatened to “take Federal control of the city.”
Someone might want to tell the 34-time convicted felon that crime in D.C. was down 35 percent in 2024 from the previous year, marking a 30-year low.
And data from the Metropolitan Police Department shows violent crime is also down so far in 2025 compared to the previous year.
Plus – more good news – the FBI released data today showing crime decreased across the U.S. in every category in 2024, including murder, violent crime and motor vehicle thefts.
