3rd Resolution To Expel Santos From Congress Introduced

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) introduced a ‘privileged’ resolution in the House of Representatives today calling on a vote to expel truth-challenged out Rep. George Santos (R-NY). ‘Privileged’ means the House must vote on the resolution within two days. Passage requires support of two-thirds of the House members. https://twitter.com/Acyn/status/1729577654397882576 This resolution follows a blistering report from the House Ethics Committee which found there was “substantial evidence” that the House freshman repeatedly broke the law. While Santos has denied the committee’s findings, calling them “slanderous,” he said during an audio chat on X (formerly Twitter) last Friday he expects to be expelled: “I have done the math over and over, and it doesn’t look really good.” It’s worth noting that Garcia, the first out gay mayor of Long Beach, California, and also a House freshman, would be the member of Congress to introduce the resolution against Santos, the first out gay Republican elected to the House. Santos is also facing 23 federal charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty. Stay tuned… https://twitter.com/joncoopertweets/status/1729585335359647857
