Some news items you might have missed:

The Caftan Chronicles: Jon Kinnally, one of the main writers of “Will & Grace” from start to finish, shares with Tim Murphy the baby steps the iconic series had to take to fully come into its gayness. Great read.

Them: Over the weekend, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reposted and endorsed a CNN interview with his church’s pastor Doug Wilson, in which Wilson advocated for, among many things, the reinstatement of U.S. laws criminalizing same-sex relations. Wilson’s contempt for queer people comes at the 5:50 mark below.

Axios: A federal judge has rejected a Justice Department request to unseal grand jury transcripts in the sex trafficking case of Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein. The judge found that “unsealing the grand jury materials would not reveal new information of any consequence.”

Variety: NBC will air a primetime special –  “Downton Abbey Celebrates The Grand Finale” – on Sept. 10 featuring conversations with the cast of the acclaimed series as they reunite to share memories from their time with the show in advance of the theatrical release of the final “Downton” film.

CNBC: TACO strikes again as Donald Trump has extended the deadline for high tariffs on Chinese goods from going into effect for another 90 days.

The Daily Beast: A lengthy investigation estimates Trump and his family will have enriched themselves by more than $3.4 billion by the end of his second term, much of it from deals, transactions, and investments that almost certainly wouldn’t have happened if he’d never been president.
