The January jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows the U.S. economy added 353,000 new jobs in spite of naysayers. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg had estimated the number was going to be closer to 185,000 jobs. https://twitter.com/CNN/status/1753411710038282640 From the Labor Department:
“Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the American economy added 353,000 jobs in January, bringing the total jobs created under President Biden to 14.8 million.”
“The unemployment rate held at its steady, low rate of 3.7 percent. This continues a two-year trend of a jobless rate under four percent, the longest stretch in more than 50 years.”
“This strong jobs report also shows balanced, broad-based growth across sectors, with gains in retail, health care, and professional and business services like engineering and management jobs.”
“Employment in manufacturing also rose by 23,000 in January, and since President Biden took office, we’ve added 791,000 manufacturing jobs across the country.”
A new CNN poll shows the public’s long-held pessimism about the economy is easing — but a majority of Americans still think the US economy is in trouble. https://twitter.com/BigBlueWaveUSA/status/1753473713197183220 https://twitter.com/BharatRamamurti/status/1753412610605633813 https://twitter.com/SRuhle/status/1753452020319629727
