Donald Trump posted a Truth Social meme over the weekend thanking himself for “working like a dog for no money.”
The portly 79-year-old shared an image of himself walking in the dark, tie undone, and looking fatigued.
But the idea that the Donald is “working for no money” doesn’t quite square up as the Trump family fortune has grown immensely via “presidency-adjacent” business endeavors that have pulled in billions of dollars since his return to the White House
In August, The New Yorker took a deep dive into the Donald’s finances and estimated the Trump family has managed to score nearly $3.4 billion through branding deals, his crypto plays, and other corporate deals.
During his first gig in the White House, Trump accepted his $400,000 presidential paycheck, then made a grand show of magnanimously donating the quarterly checks to different federal agencies. He’s promised to do the same this second go-round.
