• The Advocate: A TikTok user on Sunday captured a man at Denver Pride who claims to be a former bigot, giving out hugs to passersby. The man wore festive attire, and held a sign that read, “Recovering bigot, I am sorry! Free Hugs.”

• LGBTQ Nation: Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach (R) has announced that the state is going to change the gender marker on transgender people’s birth certificates and driver’s licenses back to the gender marker that corresponds to their sex assigned at birth.
• Birmingham Herald: Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) took to Twitter to call attention to more than a billion dollars in federal aid to expand broadband access across Alabama. Just one thing – he didn’t vote for the 2021 legislation that made it possible.

• Law Dork: The Supreme Court on Tuesday soundly rejected (by a vote of 6-3) the “independent state legislature” scheme that could have cut state courts out of federal election-related court challenges, including over redistricting.
• Twitter: Pride Month may be coming to a close but President Biden is still showing his support calling for the Equality Act, which would codify LGBTQ anti-discrimination protections into federal law, to be passed.
Love is love. No one should face discrimination because of who they are or whom they love.
Congress must pass and send me the Equality Act. It’s time we codified protections for the LGBTQI+ community.
