• LGBTQ Nation: A trans teen girl was put in a male juvenile detention center in Washington, D.C. Her jaw was broken during a July 7 assault that sent her to the hospital.
• The Atlantic: The Trump administration has given the order to incinerate nearly 500 metric tons of emergency food – enough to feed about 1.5 million children for a week – instead of sending it to people abroad who need it.
