According to a DPD statement posted on social media, Al-Alikhan targeted Brisendine because he was a gay. In the local news report below, police allege the teen arranged for Brisendine to pick him up and take him back to the senior’s home on September 24 where Al-Alikhan then stabbed Brisendine, took his car keys and left with his vehicle. Police say its investigation revealed the teen had posted anti-LGBTQ messages on social media. Al-Alikhan will be tried as an adult defendant due to the “heinous nature of the crime.”
