Parody: “Clerks And Recreation”

So, I guess it’s just a “Funny Sunday” kind of day.

A second video skewering Ms. Kim Davis of Kentucky demands to be posted.

This one from Funny Or Die, which splices scenes from NBC’s Parks and Recreation with actual footage of the Kentucky County bigot clerk refusing to issue a same-sex couple their marriage license.

Here I give you Clerks and Recreation.

As Nick Offerman’s “Ron Swanson” ruminates, “She’s a grade A bitch. Every time she laughs, an angel dies.”

Funny.

Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis refuses to issue same-sex marriage licenses. She’s just lucky she doesn’t have to answer to Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope.

Parody: “The Homophobe Tango”

Lauren Mayer, aka PsychoSuperMom, brings us her version of “The Cellblock Tango” from CHICAGO – “The Homophobe Tango” wherein she skewers the current crop of big time bigots, including Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis.

According to Mayer, she’s “a good Jewish mother who secretly yearns for a gay son, so he’ll never leave me for another woman, (cue rimshot).”

Viral Video: West Des Moines School Teachers Parody “One More Day” From LES MISERABLES

For all the teachers and theater fans. This flash mob will make you smile.

Almost 2 million views so far.

While the West Des Moines Community School District Superintendent was beginning her speech to the staff of WDMCS at the district-wide welcome back meeting, the teachers of the district created a flash mob to the enjoyment of their unsuspecting colleagues. With only one more day of preparation left, the teachers shared their talents by performing a parody of the song, “One more day” from Les Miserables.

How about the impressive voices???

You can read the clever lyrics below the video.

Lyrics:
One day more!
Another year and one more planning day.
As we start this road to the end of May;
These students who in spring were here
Will surely come to school this year.
One day more!
——–
I am not ready for today.
What shall I do once school has started?
——–
One day more.
——–
Tomorrow you’ll be halls away
Because the summer now has parted
——–
One more day all on my own.
——–
Do we know the common core?
——–
No more time for preparation.
——–
Will my lesson be a bore?
——–
I’ve run out of planning time.
——–
Please collaborate with me
——–
Soon the students will be here
——–
One more day before we start!
——–
Do I join her for PD?
——–
Learning targets bring you freedom!
——–
Shall I join their PLC?
——–
Common assessments shall be made
——–
Formative or summative?
——–
Will you come and plan with me?
——–
The time is now, the day is here!
——–
One day more!
——–
One more day to education,
We will help these students grow!
We’ll be ready for these schoolboys
We will teach what they don’t know!
——–
One day more!
——–
Watch ’em run around,
Catch ’em if they fall,
Making sure the classroom’s
Ready for them all,
Here’s a little crayon
There’s a little glue
Markers, pens, and pencils
They know what to do!
——–
One day to a new beginning

Raise the flag and say the pledge!

Every student will arrive

And I hope I will survive!

There’s a new world for the teaching

There’s a new world to be taught

Do you hear the school bells ring?
——–
All right,
I’ll join,
your PLC!
——–
One day more!
——–
I am not ready for today.
What shall I do once school has started?

We’ll become these student’s heroes
We will lead and they will go
We will build them a bright future,
We know things that they don’t know.

One more day all on my own!
——–
One day more!
——–
Tomorrow you’ll be halls away
Because the summer now has parted

One more day to education,
We will help these students grow!
We’ll be ready for these schoolboys

Watch ’em run around,
Catch ’em if they fall,
Making sure the classroom’s
Ready for them all,
Here’s a little crayon
There’s a little glue

——–
Tomorrow we’ll discover
What our God in Heaven has in store!
One more dawn
One more day
One day more!

Hulu’s scripted parody series based on the “Real Houswives” franchises returns for a second season after the initial season’s “The Hotwives of Orlando.”

Season 2 follows Phe Phe Reed (Tymberlee Hill) as she makes the move from Florida to Las Vegas, and thus we will now have “The Hotwives of Las Vegas.” The series features satirized versions of popular “Housewives” prototypes.

Watch the preview at Hulu (it’s set at autoplay and I know you folks hate that) and look for the new season to begin August 18th.

Parody – “The Lion King: The Retribution Of Cecil”

Parody video from the folks at So That Happened:

It’s the story we all know… Plus the story we can’t stop talking about… When everything he knew was taken away, an orphaned lion cub goes searching for answers…

Join Disney this fall, when one lion grows up right before our very eyes to avenge his father’s brutal murder by a dentist from Minnesota.

Musical Theatre: Grindr The Musical

Winner of 6 Awards at the West Village Musical Theater Festival!

From the official website for the show:

When Jesse decides to find his true self, he logs onto Grindr – the gay geosocial networking, and notoriously known, hook-up app. Delving into an underworld he never knew existed, he finds himself transported to the ‘scene’ with new-found freedoms of anonymous sex, promiscuity, and general male horniness. Jesse discovers fresh feelings deep inside himself with the help of his heavenly chorus of Grindr boys, as well as realizing the dangers of an unending dispensary of men.

Will Jesse find what he’s looking for or become dependent on the app that uncovered his new self?
