Nathan Lane & Matthew Broderick Reunite For ” Trumped The Musical”

As is his tradition, Jimmy Kimmel hosted his post-Oscars show on ABC following the annual film awards celebration.

Lots of funny stuff with perhaps the best served up by Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick reuniting as their “The Producers” characters with a new scheme to bilk millions from old ladies and using Donald Trump as the frontman for the job.

The original musical focuses on two Broadway producing con-artists who plot to create a show guaranteed to fail so that they can present it as the next big hit and abscond with the investment funding and profits. In Kimmel’s take, Lane and Broderick are political consultants with a similar plan to profit off the fundraising for a doomed candidate, and they realize that Trump is exactly the kind of “train-wreck, gold-plated nincompoop,” they’re looking for.

Aussie Bobsledder Simon Dunn Covers Pitbull & Ke&ha “Timber”

Aussie bobsledder Simon Dunn is a busy man: training for the Olympics, plays rugby for the Sydney Convicts, and now giving us backwoods remakes of music videos.

Check out the hunky athlete resplendent in his Calvins, cowboy boots and hat as he parodies Ke$ha and Pitbull’s “Timber.”

Fake GOP Candidate Beats Jeb Bush In New Hampshire Straw Poll

You really have to watch the “campaign ad” below. Brilliant.

Played by actor Frank Ridley, Fulbright is a mock-candidate who skewers typical politicians for Represent.us, a nonpartisan group that is pushing for campaign finance reform. He’s not even on the ballot anywhere.

But after he gave a stump speech cracking jokes about Republican candidates at the libertarian Republican Liberty Caucus’s national convention in Nashua, Fulbright beat some of them in the straw poll.

“Face it, I am a puppet for special interests and lobbyists,” Fulbright said. “And I will break any campaign promises that rub my donors the wrong way.”

Fulbright picked up a dozen votes, putting him way behind Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who won with 445 votes, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader. But that was still ahead of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and former New York Gov. George Pataki.

Organizers Of Burning Man May Sue Quiznos Over Parody Video

The organizers of the annual desert utopian arts celebration Burning Man are NOT happy with a new promotional video spoof of their event created by sandwich maker Quiznos.

From the Reno Gazette-Journal:

Burning Man takes issue with the clip and is considering legal action, not because of the mockery it makes of the more than 70,000-person annual event but because the video is theft of the event’s intellectual property, according to Burning Man spokesman Jim Graham.

”We are pretty proactive about protecting our 10 principles, one of which is decommodification,” Graham said. “We get a quite a number of requests each year from companies wanting to gift participants with their product or to capture imagery or video of their products at the event, and we turn them all down.”

“We’ll be coordinating with our legal team to see what action we can take,” Graham said. Quizno’s representatives could not be immediately reached Thursday for comment.
