Nick Jonas to release EP of “How To Succeed…”

Producers of the Broadway production of “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying” said Tuesday a five-song EP will be released May 8 featuring the voice of the youngest of the three Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas.

Jonas is currently playing J. Pierrepont Finch, having taken over the part from Darren Criss of Fox’s hit show “Glee,” who briefly assumed the role from Daniel Radcliffe.

Jonas, who is committed to playing the song-and-dance part until at least July 1, has recorded “Brotherhood of Man” and “I Believe In You” among the five songs.

Daniel Radcliffe also recorded his own cast album.

Nick Jonas and Delta Goodrem split up

Apparently Delta Goodrem and Nick Jonas have ended their relationship. Distance and careers were the issues that probably contributed here. Delta is a judge on the Aussie version of THE VOICE and Nick is on Broadway starring in “How To Succeed…”

“Nick and Delta have decided to mutually end their relationship. At this point in time, they are both focused on their careers as they go on different paths. They remain friends and wish each other the best for the future.”

I hope the best for both. I know Delta and I think she’s amazing.

Meanwhile, Nick will be continuing his star turn on Broadway. As a matter of fact, Nick will soon be featured in an EP of music from HOW TO SUCCEED in which he is currently starring as J. Pierrepont Finch. The EP is due out this spring, and will be produced by six-time Grammy nominee Robert Sher who produced the Grammy nominated cast album featuring Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette.

In a recent interview with the Advocate, Nick Jonas discusses his new role in Broadway’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, as well as his relationship with the gay community.

“Our gay fans been incredible over the years,” says Jonas. “My brothers and I totally look forward to meeting them, because they really respond to our style, and it’s cool to see how our influence has impacted what they’re wearing… They always have good taste.”

As far as he and his brother’s strict Christian upbringing is concerned, Jonas says, “My upbringing was faith-based, but we believed you should love all others as you want to be loved, because everyone should be treated equally. That’s helped me have an understanding of people on different journeys and in different walks of life. At the end of the day, we’re all the same, because we all want to be loved.”

When asked about marriage equality, he says “My thoughts on gay marriage are that everyone has the right to love and be loved, and that’s the position I take.”

Aside from starring in the show, Jonas also discusses plans to get involved with Trevor Project and the It Gets Better campaign: “Once I join the show, I plan to do all I can on a few different efforts, including Trevor Project and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. I want to inspire all young people, whether they’re diabetic, being bullied, or just having a hard time at home.”

Jonas follows Daniel Radcliffe and Darren Criss starring in the Broadway revival. He begins his performance as J. Pierrepont Finch on January 24, 2012.

Nick Jonas to star in Broadway’s “How To Succeed …”

Pop star Nick Jonas, who started his Broadway career in the revival of Annie Get Your Gun, will return to the New York stage as J. Pierrepont Finch in the Tony Award-nominated revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Primarily known as one of the Jonas Brothers, the hit band he formed with his two siblings in 2005, Nick Jonas made his West End stage debut as Marius in Les Miserables in 2010 and was recently seen in the Hollywood Bowl staging of Hairspray as Link Larkin.

Prior to his fame as a Disney Channel icon and as part of the Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas appeared in the Broadway casts of Annie Get Your Gun, Beauty and the Beast and as Gavroche in the final Broadway cast (of the original run) of Les Miserables.

Jonas will take on the role of charming corporate chameleon Finch beginning Jan. 24, 2012, and continuing through July 1. He will succeed “Glee” star Darren Criss, who is scheduled to play a limited engagement in the revival Jan. 3-22, 2012. Tickets are now on sale for both replacements.
