Music: Michael Buble “To Be Loved”

Yes!  New music from Michael Buble!

Bublé’s new CD “To Be Loved” will be released April 23, 2013, in the US.

Via press release:

Michael Bublé’s highly anticipated new studio album “To Be Loved” is scheduled to be released on April 23rd in the US (April l5th internationally), by Reprise Records.

The first single, “It’s A Beautiful Day”, co-written by Bublé, was released February 25th.

“To Be Loved”, Bublé’s sixth studio album follows his “Christmas” CD which sold seven million copies internationally and was the number two biggest selling album of 2011 (after Adele).

“My new record is about love, happiness, fun and yummy things. Getting to work with my friend and longtime collaborator Bob Rock (“Call Me Irresponsible”, “Crazy Love” and “Christmas”) who produced the entire album was very exciting. We’re a good team. I love the songs we selected this time out. It was also terrific working once again with my songwriting partners” commented Bublé.

Later this year, Bublé is scheduled to perform 10 sellout shows at London’s 02 Arena beginning June 30th.

98 Degrees debuts new song: “Microphone”

98 Degrees is the latest boy band from yesteryear to drop a brand new single.

The men of 98 Degrees debuted the new track on New York radio station Z100 yesterday.

“Microphone” is the first new song from the group in a decade. Glad to hear Jeff Timmons lead off the song.

This is the first track from their upcoming CD titled “2.0”

New Music: Megan Hilty – “No Cure”

Guess who I got to interview today?  After discovering her debut CD, I got a call to interview the fab and fun Ms. Hilty.  I’ll be sharing the interview soon…

Super nice and charming. We chatted about her new CD “It Happens All The Time” released March 12.

Check out the whole album at Amazon and iTunes.

Or head over to Target for their “exclusive” version with two additional songs.

Bonus – here’s an acoustic version of Megan’s song “No Cure”

Justin Timberlake gets ready for Target exclusive

How cute is this?

These fans were assembled under the idea that they were going to help announce Target’s exclusive deal to release the physical CD of Justin Timberlake’s CD “The 20/20 Experience.”

I think what’s most interesting is how they react to seeing JT one on one. We’re so used to seeing fans react “en masse” but when you’re one on one? Whole different experience.

Made me laugh.  Fun video.

Matt Fishel – “Radio-friendly Pop Song”

Love, love, love this!

Over the past few years, London-based out singer-songwriter Matt Fishel has created music videos that have been admittedly autobiographical in their creation: young gay love and nostalgia (“The First Time”); repression, tradition, marriage, religion and celebration (“Testament“); and now Fishel’s about to come out with his new single “Radio-Friendly Pop Song” based on his relationship with the music industry as an openly gay artist.

From Fishel on the new song:

I’m really excited about this song and I hope you enjoy it. It’s about my (and others’) experiences of the music and entertainment industries as an out gay artist, and the often-apparent homophobia that underpins them.

Radio-Friendly Pop Song is the 5th single from my debut album – ‘Not Thinking Straight’ – which will be released internationally in 3 weeks time, on 8th April. It’s a blend of heavy guitars, big vocal harmonies and anthemic choruses, and contains 13 tracks that deal with themes and issues surrounding gay life, relationships and experiences.

The song is available for download on Amazon and iTunes.

New Music: Richard Marx’s “Soundtrack for Self-Pleasure”

From Funny Or Die: “Romantic singer/songwriter Richard Marx puts a twist on some of his biggest hits with his new album Richard Marx’s Soundtrack for Self-Pleasure.”

I love that Richard Marx has such a great sense of humor. He handles this bit perfectly.

(no pun intended…)

Music Video: Father Tiger – “Head Hung Low”

Fun song and eye candy in this new video from Father Tiger. The song is sexy, fun and full of great energy.

Keep watching Father Tiger, because I said so…

You may remember Father Tiger’s holiday video “On Christmas Day” featuring a sexy, furry Santa I posted back in the holiday season.

Best Tim McGraw quotes from “Q on CBC” interview

Tim McGraw recently gave a great, in depth interview with CBC-TV’s Jian Ghomeshi in Canada.  The appearance is in support of his current tour and new CD TWO LANES OF FREEDOM.

While he wasn’t shirtless during the interview, like his recent People Magazine appearance, he’s just as smart and articulate as ever. Great answers.

They covered topics ranging from McGraw’s new album and his old records, to his father and his own sobriety.

Here are his 12 best quotes from the interview:

“When you make a record, you give up a piece of your soul. There’s a physical part of your body that goes in.”

“Nobody wants to hear an artist who makes a lot of money complain.”

“You’re at the prom, and everybody else is dancing, but you’re stuck in a chair over in the corner.”

“It’s about being attacked viscerally by something. From the first verse, I can know if I’m gonna like a song or not.”

“I can’t imagine being up there singing ‘Indian Outlaw’ or ‘I Like It, I Love It’ at 65 years old.”

“When you know, you know. You can’t be too cerebral in this business.”

“You don’t get into this business without some sort of egotistical thought that you wanna be the biggest artist that there’s ever been. On the other hand, there’s this compete insecurity of not thinking you’re good enough.”

“Art’s for art. Money’s for pizza.”

“[My dad] gave me this confidence without ever meaning to, without ever being part of my life. To think there are other things I could reach for in life, it made me think it was in me, as well.”

“It’s like an avalanche of your life catching up with you, and it just got to a point where I realized instead of facing things I was covering things up. I was using alcohol — and drugs to some extent — to get through things. There was only one place I could look, and that was in the mirror.”

“You can fail at any moment. You’re on a high wire act. If you’re doing it right, you’re being vulnerable.”

“This is not a swan song album.”

Helen Reddy on The Candi & Randy Show

Loved having pop music icon Helen Reddy on The Candi & Randy Show yesterday.  I’ve been a fan of her distinct, delicious voice forever.

Helen is currently on a “standing room only” multi-city tour of the US, and is expected to add international dates to her concert schedule soon.

Helen retired from live performance in 2002 and began practicing as a clinical hypnotherapist and motivational speaker.  She decided to return to performing after the warm reception she received when she sang at her sister’s birthday party.

A music legend, Helen has enjoyed huge international success, especially in the United States, where she placed fifteen singles in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. Six of those 15 songs made the Top 10 and three of those songs reached No. 1, including her signature hit “I Am Woman.”

She was the first artist to ever win the coveted American Music Award for “Favorite Pop/Rock Female” artist. She was also the first Australian to win a Grammy Award and to have three #1 hits in the same year.

In television, Helen was the first Australian to host her own one-hour weekly primetime variety show on an American network, along with several specials that were seen in over forty countries.

In 2011, Billboard named her the #28 AC artist (#9 among women) of all time.

Her current collection of greatest hits, The Woman I Am, is currently available at all digital download stores.
