New Music Video: Eli Lieb “Lightning In A Bottle”

Out singer/songwriter Eli Lieb has just released his newest music video “Lightning In A Bottle,” which sends a message of self-empowerment to his listeners.

From Eli:

This song is really special to me. Everyone is fighting a battle.

I want people to see this music video, hear the song, really listen to the lyrics, and live their truth.

I want this to inspire people to not be afraid to break free and embrace who they are. I believe that being 100% your true authentic self is the key to real happiness and joy.

Life is celebration and we are all beautiful beings!!

I’ve previously featured Eli’s music videos for “Young Love,” “Safe In My Hands,” and “Zeppelin.”

Music Video: Lana Del Rey – “Once Upon A Dream (Young Ruffian Remix)”

Chris DeVille at Stereogum points up the origin of this vibey music video remix of Lana Del Rey’s “Once Upon A Dream:”

Way back in January, before we knew anything at all about Ultraviolenc beyond its title, Lana Del Rey’s eerie cover of the Disney classic “Once Upon A Dream” appeared in the trailer for Maleficent on Grammys night.

Now the song from the trailer, which is actually a remix by Young Ruffian, has its own video built entirely out of footage from the movie. Watch below.

New Music Video: Ricky Martin “Adiós”

“Adiós” is the first single from Ricky Martin’s forthcoming album, which is scheduled for an early 2015 release.  You can find the track at iTunes.

The uber-stylish video was filmed on location at the Long Beach, Calif., speakeasy Harvelle’s, which opened in 1931 during Prohibition. Ricky Martin plays five characters – a policeman, bartender, bouncer, mobster and singer.

“Adiós” features dancers from Harlow Gold, the cutting-edge L.A. burlesque troupe founded by world-renowned choreographers Tracy Phillips and Dominic Carbone.

Note as the dancers wind their way into the audience, they begin to flirt with the crowd. First the female dancers hit on the men, then work their way to the woman in the audience. Not heavy-handed, just there.  Without being nasty or dirty, it creates a very sexy, lightly erotic atmosphere.

Fun.

Oh – and yeah, Ricky’s still super-easy on the eyes. Excuse me while I watch this one more time. Or two…

Ricky will be touring Mexico in support of the new project – check his tour dates at the official website.

New Music Video: Matt Alber “Handsome Man”

Accidental Bear shares the debut of out singer/songwriter Matt Alber‘s newest music video, “Handsome Man,” from his current album Wind Sand Stars.

Accidental Bear’s Mike Enders also has a short Q&A about the making of the video and what exactly Mr. Albers wanted us to take away from the musical respite:

AB: What is the story going on in this new video for “Handsome Man?”

Matt Alber: Well, there’s always room for interpretation, but I see this as the story of two guys who find the spark of love the morning after a pivotal sleepover. Maybe they’ve jut been hooking up until now, keeping things casual. But something changes when neither of them wants the morning to end. One of the fellas hides a love-note for the other on the back of a photo-strip, and when the other one finds it… well, it’s ON!

Hit the play button below and enjoy. And check out the full album on iTunes here.

Music Video: Xelle “Sweat”

The newest from Xelle released today on iTunes. Watch as the girls get “worked out.”

Via press release:

XELLE cast Brett Azar as the hot, bodybuilding Tony Little-esque instructor.

They also brought on a fierce group of curvy jazzercise dancers and called on celebrity friends like Bianca Del Rio, Courtney Stodden, Andrew W.K. and Sherry Vine to make cameos.

Designer Geoffrey Mac created the insane costumes and the hair design is by Wigbar.

NYC drag star Marti Gould Cummings also appears as the catalyst for the surprise twist ending!

Musicless Music Video: Village People “YMCA”

This YouTube artist takes music video and drops the music track to replace the sound what he “thinks” would have been the actual sounds while recording.  I think the Cowboy’s mumbling to himself is my favorite here.

I’ve previously posted his “Dancing in the Streets” with David Bowie and Mick Jagger.

Happy Monday!

New music video: Perfume Genius “Queen”

Remember the 80s when wild, ‘out there’ music videos held some deep, hidden meaning?

From Stereogum:

A couple of days ago, Perfume Genius announced the new album Too Bright and shared the stark, powerful first single “Queen.”

Mike Hadreas, the man who performs as Perfume Genius, has said that the album represents a confident, confrontational embrace of queer identity and of the effects it can have, and that sure as hell comes through in the video, which is a truly great piece of work.

Cody Critcheloe, the man behind the performance-art pop project SSION, directed the video, a surreal masterpiece that starts with Hadreas playing a street hustler and jumps into the unknown from there.
