Spent the day playing a small part in Matt Zarley’s new music video for his upcoming summer single “Somebody For Everybody.” I took some low res pics during shooting.

Fresh from his double win at the 2012 OutMusic Awards, Matt Zarley joins us to talk about attending the event this past weekend in Las Vegas where he was honored for Single of the Year (“Change Begins With Me”) and Album of the Year (“Change Begins With Me”).
The OutMusic Awards are presented by LARA (LGBT Academy of Recording Arts). The OutMusic Awards nominate and honor LGBT musicians for their achievements and contributions during the past year.

GREAT time at Las Vegas Pride Festival yesterday.
Michael and I spent time browsing the booths with our friends Alex and Gordon, watched a LOT of the entertainment on the big stage (including best bro Matt Zarley singing his opening song above). The big stage was hosted by Las Vegas’ favorite news anchor Chris Saldana from Channel 8 News and then Jaymes Vaughan of the Chippendales (and soon to be on The Amazing Race).
Vegas Pride continues to get better and better each year. Better entertainment, better management of a huge event, and great fun. You see soooo many people you miss throughout the year, and it’s a really healthy, friendly environment.
I love the folks dancing in the Matt Zarley video above. I tried to get a bit of the crowd to show how full the lawn was in front of the big stage. And this was early in the evening – about 6:30.

(btw – sorry for the weird camera work. YouTube said it would “fix” my shaky camera work, and it’s kinda funky… But you get the idea).

Had a great time at the Las Vegas 2012 Pride Parade last night.
Started out the evening watching LGBT idols/allies Kathy Griffin, Joan Rivers and Margaret Cho make an appearance TOGETHER to officially start the parade. Since all three also love hunky men, they took pics with two of the world famous Chippendales.
Then headed down to watch the parade from the telecast booth mid-parade. For several years, Cox Cable has generously broadcast the parade on their channel 96. If you missed the parade, it will be available online at www.cox96.net. Or catch one of many rebroadcasts on Cox Channel 96 in Las Vegas at 8pm on September 17, 20, 23, 30 and October 4 or 6.
And what’s Pride without friends? Our ‘partners in crime’ Gordon & Alex joined us for the festivities.

Matt performing a medley of shows he did on Broadway and his NYC years. Those shows include A CHORUS LINE, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, THE WHO’S TOMMY, CATS, KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN, CHICAGO, and CHESS.

Michael has two clients performing at Northalstead Market Days in Chicago today.
First up is singer/songwriter Matt Zarley, then just a bit later is Olivia Newton-John. Matt will be joining Olivia onstage as a “guest T-Bird” for the GREASE songs.
As always, Michael is working via cell phone anytime he’s in a car and not driving.
If you’re in Chicago, don’t miss Matt Zarley or Olivia! It’s something like $8 suggested entrance to what is the best street festival in the mid-west. Can’t do better than that! Plus you get Sheena Easton and a host of other fab musical talent – in one of the greatest cities in the world.
Me? I’m holding down the fort with the dogs at the pool…
With so many fun Pride celebrations clustered at the end of June, it’s great that San Diego LGBT Pride – one of the nation’s most vibrant, colorful, and friendliest such events – is scheduled for mid-July. It’s also a great place to beat the heat! While most of the country is steaming in summer’s intolerable temperature and humidity, San Diego is relatively cool, especially in the evening, much to the surprise of many visitors.
This year’s theme for the 38th annual celebration is “America’s Pride” and also honors the 40th anniversary of Stonewall with the Spirit of Stonewall Rally to be held on Friday, July 20. Check below for main highlights of the 2012 San Diego LGBT Pride event.

Parking lots in Balboa Park are free, but fill up fast during Pride weekend. A free shuttle is offered to the parade and festival when parking at the Old Naval Hospital parking lot. Pickup/drop off at 6th Ave. and Juniper St.

San Diego LGBT Pride sure knows how to throw a party! Once again there will be three entertainment stages packed with amazing talent. Gay favorite and iconic comedian Sandra Bernhard headlines Saturday, along with Randy Report favorite and Billboard dance chart artist Matt Zarley, and UK pop diva Natasha Bedingfield on Sunday. Other notable performers Erika Jayne, Frankie Negron, Wynter Gordon and Chris Cox. Festival amenities this year include a Farmers Market, hiNrg dance floor, Beer Gardens, Wine Grotto, Cool Zone for those 55+, Leather Realm, Interfaith Pavilion, Art of Pride (LGBT local artists), Youth Zone, Children’s Garden, and over 300 vendors.
