Homophobes Checked Out LGBTQ Books In Protest That Backfired

Nearly 200 local residents of San Diego stepped in to replace LGBTQ-themed books at a library when two homophobes checked out all of the books and refused to return them.

Adrianne Peterson, the manager of the Rancho Peñasquitos branch of the San Diego Public Library, was taken aback when she received an email last month from two local residents regarding her Pride Month book display. Pride flag flies in the breeze

Some news items you might have missed: • The Advocate: Southwestern High School in Piasa, Illinois, held a flag-themed day, and one student brought a rainbow Pride flag. A fellow student told him to get rid of the flag, and when the first student asked why, another schoolmate began punching and beating him while trying to take the flag away.
