Washington Post: Chad Carswell, 38, desperately needs a kidney transplant. But his hospital requires organ recipients to be vaccinated against COVID, and he’s refusing the shots. • The Advocate: Banning queer-themed books is the latest culture war being waged by Republicans on the LGBTQ community.

The Hill: A new study shows unvaccinated adults were 23 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 during the omicron wave than adults who were vaccinated and boosted. • OUT: Dancing with the Stars/America’s Next Top Model champ Nyle DiMarco is joining the cast of the upcoming Queer As Folk reboot.

Axios: Donald Trump is promising pardons to Jan. 6 rioters should he ever (god forbid) get close to presidential power again. But Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell does NOT support shortened prison sentences for the insurrectionists. • HuffPost: Iran has executed two gay men who were convicted on charges of sodomy and spent six years on death row. Homosexuality is illegal in Iran, considered one of the most repressive places in the world for LGBTQ people.
