Interesting Fact: U.S. Bible Belt Leads In Gay Porn Consumption

Mega-site Porn Hub teamed up with Buzzfeed to assess which states have the highest viewership of gay porn in the US. (Yes, websites can tell where you are located as you view their site).

You know the old saying, “Ye who protesteth the loudest, do it the mostest?”

It seems the majority of states with a high percentage of gay viewers is in the South, where gay marriage is illegal in all states.

As a matter of fact, the percentage of gay viewers for every single state in the South is higher than the average of the legal gay marriage states.

The state with the highest percentage of gay porn viewership is Mississippi (5.6%) followed by Louisiana (5.4%) and Georgia (5.4%).

Georgia: Christian Florist Would Deny Service To Gays But Not Adulterers Because “It’s A Different Kind Of Sin”

CNN’s Gary Tuchman interviewed several florists in rural Georgia and asked if they would provide certain services to gay people.

All five said “no” based on their deeply held religious beliefs. Clearly, they follow every word of the Bible, right?

Well, maybe not all of them.

It turns out being an adulterer doesn’t disqualify you from being served by Melissa Jeffcoat.

Check out this excerpt from the segment:

Tuchman: … In the Ten Commandments, it says you can’t commit adultery…

Jeffcoat: Right.

Tuchman: It says you need to honor your father and mother.

Jeffcoat: Mhmm.

Tuchman: If someone didn’t honor their parents or committed adultery, would you serve them?

Jeffcoat: Yes.

Tuchman: Well, why would you serve them but not serve someone who is gay?

Jeffcoat: It’s just a different kind of sin to me and I just don’t believe in it.

So, when the conservative nuts tell you it has nothing to do with the gays and just their “deeply held religious beliefs,” remember that some sins are just “different.” #Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy of the day: Oliver North

In 1986 Oliver North admitted to lying to Congress [felony], obstructing justice [felony], taking bribes [felony], breaking the Boland Amendment [felony].

All as a part of hostage and guns and cash exchanges [also money laundering drug cartels].

In 2014, Oliver North attacks President Obama for legally exchanging 5 prisoners for 1 prisoner of war.

Benham brothers on SiriusXM: Our livelihood is being threatened by the gay agenda

David and Jason Benham spoke with Mike Rogers on The Ed Schultz Show about their experience in the media firestorm this week regarding their anti-gay statements which led to their HGTV show being cancelled.

David Benham, at one point, alludes to being silenced then doubles back on himself saying he isn’t being silent:

David Benham told Rogers, “when one of your beliefs forces you to be silent and gets pushed in a corner, then…”And Rogers shot back, “Who said you have to be silent?”

“Oh no, we’re not being silent,” Benham insisted, contradicting himself. “The thing is that it’s the agenda that demands our silence so that we can keep our profession. See, this threatens our livelihood at this point — and that’s what’s happening, America sees it.”

“I believe that as a result of my stance on biblical values in terms of sex outside of marriage, that I no longer can have a livelihood on the HGTV network,” Benham added. “That’s the silencing of it all.”

“It’s an agenda to beat back anyone that would disagree with its opinions or its statements,” Benham complained.

“Well that’s what we call the free market,” Rogers, who the Managing Director of The Raw Story, noted.

Later in the conversation, David Benham says that 87% of Americans identify as Christians and agree with the brothers positions. But when presented with recent poll numbers showing a majority of Americans believe gay marriage should be legal, David  says “I’m not going to get into statistics.”

So it seems he likes when his stats are quoted, but doesn’t want to discuss stats he’s not on board with.

Near the end of the interview, David restates he’s a family man, a Christian, and a businessman with biblical beliefs.  Rogers asks why David isn’t addressing other biblical abominations like tattoos, and the brother ignores the question.

The conversation continues along those lines.

Take a listen to the lengthy interview below.

Bryan Fischer practicing more right wing hypocrisy

I love when the “inconsistencies” and hypocrisy of right wing idiots become inescapably obvious to everyone.  “The rules I set for you don’t apply to me” kind of thing.

Like this little incident today with anti-gay Bryan Fischer from the ironically named American Family Association, via Right Wing Watch:

Last month, after Christian radio stations and music fans began to boycott the band Jars of Clay over the lead singer’s support for marriage equality, Bryan Fischer proclaimed that this sort of reaction was the logical result of that singer’s own decision to make a “foolish declaration.”

If someone chooses to speak out on this sort of issue, Fischer declared, “that’s fine, but then don’t complain when there are consequences for making a foolish declaration like that.”

Of course, that was two whole weeks ago, back when Fischer found such “consequences” to be totally acceptable because he happened to disagree with the stated position of the person who was experiencing those consequences.

That stand has now been totally abandoned in the face of the Benham brothers having lost their HGTV program over their anti-gay, anti-choice activism, with Fischer declaring on his radio program today that they are the victims of the “gay gestapo” which will soon force Christians to wear yellow crosses upon their sleeves “like the Jews in Nazi Germany.”

Just to recap, when someone that Fischer disagrees with suffers a backlash because of their publicly stated position, that is because “there are consequences for making a foolish declaration” … but when someone that Fischer agrees with suffers consequences for making public declarations, that is Nazi-like persecution.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz and GOP Benghazi Hypocrisy

Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz says the current Benghazi scandal doesn’t smell right and that the GOP-controlled House is going to keep searching until they find answers.

Perhaps – just perhaps – they themselves are the “smoking gun.”

If you want to know why there wasn’t more security in Benghazi for our ambassador, why not ask Chaffetz himself?  HE proudly voted to cut embassy security funding.

Rep. Vance McAllister under pressure from Gov. Jindal to resign amid videotape scandal

First term “Christian Values” congressman Vance McAllister is getting more pressure to step down from his congressional seat after video was made public of his “make-out session” with a now-fired staffer.

From CBS News:

Gov. Bobby Jindal, R-La., called the congressman’s behavior an embarrassment. “Congressman McAllister says he wants privacy to work on his issues with his family. The best way to get privacy and work on putting his family back together is to resign from Congress,” Jindal said.

Meanwhile, state GOP chairman Roger Villere issued a blistering statement calling on McAllister to resign, but so far, the 40-year-old freshman congressman was rejecting the calls for him to immediately give up his seat.

“Mr. McAllister’s extreme hypocrisy is an example of why ordinary people are fed up with politics. A breach of trust of this magnitude can only be rectified by an immediate resignation,” Villere said.

“He has embarrassed our party, our state and the institution of Congress,” the chairman continued.

McAllister made his “Christian values” a central component of his campaign.

Interesting to note that GOP chairman Villere never asked for Sen. David Vitter to resign when it was discovered he had been patronizing prostitutes in 2007.

Christian Values Congressman Vance McAllister busted kissing a staffer on video

Freshman Rep. Vance McAllister (R-LA), who ran on a “faith, family, and country” platform, and promised a vigorous “defense of natural marriage” has been caught on video making out with a young female staffer. Local news outlets are speculating about an affair.

McAllister issued this statement asking for privacy while attempting to get himself out of the dog house:

There’s no doubt I’ve fallen short and I’m asking for forgiveness. I’m asking for forgiveness from God, my wife, my kids, my staff and my constituents who elected me to serve. Trust is something I know has to be earned whether you’re a husband, a father or a congressman. I promise to do everything I can to earn back the trust of everyone I’ve disappointed. From day one, I’ve always tried to be an honest man. I ran for Congress to make a difference and not just be another politician.

McAllister was endorsed by the Duck Dynasty clan during his campaign.  McAllister famously invited Willie Robertson of Duck Dynasty to be his guest at the most recent State of the Union address.

I wonder what the Robertson family thinks about this?

The deep South really likes watching online gay porn

Click graphic to enlarge

Buzzfeed and online porn giant Pornhub recently teamed up to find the states that stream the most gay porn from the prolific site.  In the map above, the orange states indicate where same-sex marriage is still banned and the pink states show where the gays have access to marriage equality

What they found was that the highest levels of gay porn viewers are in the South, where, incidentally, marriage equality is outlawed by the states homophobes.

Holding the number one position, with a record 5.58% gay users, is a state where “sodomy” is still illegal: Mississippi.

Louisiana is closely on its rear at 5.44%, and Georgia with 5.38%.

Veddy interrrrrrresting…
