Hillary Clinton’s Doctor Says Clinton Is “Healthy And Fit To Serve As President”

Now this is how the public should be informed about the health of a potential president.

Hillary Clinton’s personal physician issued a statement today regarding Clinton’s current progress regarding mild pneumonia and her health in general.

Hillary Clinton is “recovering well” from pneumonia and remains “fit to serve as President of the United States,” her doctor said in a letter released Wednesday by her campaign. The health details made public by the Democratic presidential nominee included a description of the pneumonia diagnosis Clinton received last week Friday. Her illness became public after she left Sunday’s 9/11 memorial service early and was seen on video staggering while getting into a van.

The letter released Wednesday by the campaign stated that Clinton underwent a chest scan that revealed she had “mild, non-contagious bacterial pneumonia,” according to Clinton’s physician, Dr. Lisa Bardack, chair of internal medicine at CareMount Medical in Mount Kisco, New York. She was treated with a 10-day course of Levaquin, an antibiotic used to treat infections.

Bardack said Clinton is up to date on all vaccines, including two given to help prevent pneumonia — Prevnar and Pneumovax. The letter did not state when she received those vaccines. “She is recovering well with antibiotics and rest,” wrote Bardack, who also authored a letter about Clinton’s health released in July 2015. “She continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as President of the United States.”

Clinton, 68, has blood pressure of 100 over 70. Her total cholesterol was 189; her LDL or “bad” cholesterol was 103, and her HDL or “good” cholesterol was 56 — all within healthy levels and not signaling the need for any medications. She has also had a normal mammogram and breast ultrasound, according to the letter. She takes thyroid and allergy medicines and the blood thinner Coumadin, prescribed as a preventative after she suffered a blood clot resulting from a 2012 concussion.

Hillary Clinton Supports NCAA Decision To Pull Championship Games From North Carolina

Earlier today I reported on the NCAA’s decision to pull seven championship games from North Carolina due to the state’s anti-LGBT hate law, HB2.

I’ve been meaning to post something about Hillary Clinton’s recent diagnosis of pneumonia, and the shocking outrage by her detractors about her health and “transparency.”

For the record, here’s the diagnosis from Hillary’s personal physician:

One perspective on Hillary’s momentary light headedness after standing in the heat at the 9/11 memorial service could be that she is simply so presidential that she refused to miss the event. Having served as a U.S. senator from New York, it’s obvious the event holds deep feelings for her.

President Obama’s Approval Rating Hits 58%

Good news for Hillary Clinton as President Obama’s approval rating has just hit his highest marks since July of 2009.

According to the ABC News/Washington Post poll, eight in 10 Obama approvers back her for the presidency.

That same poll shows Clinton currently holds a five point lead over Donald Trump.

Additionally, 58% of respondents believe she will be elected president versus only 29% believe Trump to win in November. That’s a new low for Trump on that metric.

Appearing at an LGBT fund raiser for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in New York City last night, Barbra Streisand delivered a very clever parody version of the Stephen Sondheim classic, “Send In The Clowns,” retitled “Who Needs This Clown?” with newly penned lyrics which skewered Republican Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton Attacked For “Basket Of Deplorables” Comment

There’s faux outrage in Trumpland today after Democrat Hillary Clinton described Donald Trump’s most extreme supporters as “the basket of deplorables” at an LGBT fund raiser in New York City last night.

Via Politico:

“You know,” Clinton said at the LGBT event, “to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.”

“Right?” Clinton said as the crowd laughed and applauded.

“The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it,” Clinton continued. “And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people — now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric.”

The Democratic nominee then sought to draw a distinction between the two halves of the “basket.”

“Now, some of those folks — they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America. But the other basket,” she said, “are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they’re just desperate for change.”

These Trump supporters, Clinton said, “don’t buy everything he says,” but “hold out some hope that their lives will be different” with him as president. “They won’t wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they’re in a dead end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.”

I guess this means that Hillary just lost the racist vote. Quel dommage.

The Trump campaign is attempting to liken the statement to Mitt Romney’s now infamous “47 percent” comments caught on tape at private fund raising event during the 2012 presidential campaign.

It’s entertaining to see Trump’s campaign, which was launched on the idea that “political correctness” should be ditched in today’s society for more “straight talk,” get all twisted because Hillary called Trump’s followers out for what they are.

I guess they like straight talk until the subject turns to them.

UPDATE: Hillary Clinton has issued a statement expressing “regret” over the “generalistic” nature of her comment last night.

“Last night I was ‘grossly generalistic,’ and that’s never a good idea. I regret saying ‘half’ — that was wrong.”

Hillary Clinton Talks To Humans Of New York About Seeming “Walled Off”

Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton shares with the wildly popular Humans of New York:

“I was taking a law school admissions test in a big classroom at Harvard. My friend and I were some of the only women in the room. I was feeling nervous. I was a senior in college. I wasn’t sure how well I’d do.

“And while we’re waiting for the exam to start, a group of men began to yell things like: ‘You don’t need to be here.’ And ‘There’s plenty else you can do.’ It turned into a real ‘pile on.’ One of them even said: ‘If you take my spot, I’ll get drafted, and I’ll go to Vietnam, and I’ll die.’ And they weren’t kidding around.

“It was intense. It got very personal. But I couldn’t respond. I couldn’t afford to get distracted because I didn’t want to mess up the test. So I just kept looking down, hoping that the proctor would walk in the room.

“I know that I can be perceived as aloof or cold or unemotional. But I had to learn as a young woman to control my emotions. And that’s a hard path to walk. Because you need to protect yourself, you need to keep steady, but at the same time you don’t want to seem ‘walled off.’ And sometimes I think I come across more in the ‘walled off’ arena.

“And if I create that perception, then I take responsibility. I don’t view myself as cold or unemotional. And neither do my friends. And neither does my family. But if that sometimes is the perception I create, then I can’t blame people for thinking that.”

Billionaire Facebook Co-Founder Pledges $20 Million To Defeat Donald Trump

Billionaire Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz is putting his money where his mouth is by pledging $20 million to help elect former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the next president.

Via The Hill:

In a Thursday evening post on Medium, Moskovitz said he and his wife, Cari Tuna, are will be donating the money to super-PACs and Democratic committees dedicated to electing Hillary Clinton.

“Like many Democratic voters, we don’t support every plank of the platform, but it is clear that if Secretary Clinton wins the election, America will advance much further toward the world we hope to see,” Moskovitz wrote.

He added: “If Donald Trump wins, the country will fall backward, and become more isolated from the global community.”
