Trump: Facebook & Fake News Colluded Against Me

According to Donald Trump, it was him against the world.

Everyone was against him – except his people.

Going full conspiracy theory on Twitter this morning, Trump denied the reports that hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Facebook ads purchased by a Russian think tank helped him win the presidency.

p.s. It did.

See, if that were true it would mean he didn’t do it all on his own, and well, how could that possibly be true?

“Facebook was always anti-Trump.The Networks were always anti-Trump hence, Fake News, @nytimes(apologized) & @WaPo were anti-Trump. Collusion?” Trump tweeted.

“But the people were Pro-Trump! Virtually no President has accomplished what we have accomplished in the first 9 months-and economy roaring.”

Just a small amount of ego in that last line, huh?

And what up with repeating the lie that the New York Times apologized to him? #NeverHappened

I find it embarrassing that a president of the United States has such a fragile ego.

Ellen DeGeneres: “Trump Is Dividing Us All And I Just Don’t Want Him On My Show”

Donald Trump will not be sitting for a chat on ELLEN – this we now know for sure.

Speaking with Megyn Kelly in advance of her new morning talk show Megyn Kelly Today, DeGeneres asked if she would want to interview Trump on her new talk show.

“I would not say no to the sitting president of the United States,” Kelly answered. “Would you?”

“Yeah,” DeGeneres said to a roar of applause. “He is who he is and he has enough attention and he has his Twitter account and he has ways to get his message across. There’s nothing that I’m going to say to him that’s going to change him.”

“I don’t want to give him a platform because it validates him and for me to have someone on the show I have to at least admire them in some way. And I can’t have someone that I feel is not only dangerous for the country and for me personally as a gay woman but to the world. He is dividing all of us and I just don’t want him on my show,” DeGeneres added.

During her time on the air, DeGeneres has hosted U.S. presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush on her show.

North Korea Accuses Donald Trump Of Declaring War

The Foreign Minister of North Korea, Ri Yong Ho, accused Donald Trump of “declaring war” on his country referencing Trump’s tweet over the weekend that North Korea “won’t be around much longer.”

From CNN:

“Last weekend Trump claimed that our leadership wouldn’t be around much longer and declared a war on our country,” Ri said, according to an official translation of his remarks to reporters in New York.

“Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make all self-defensive counter measures, including the right to shoot down the United States strategic bombers at any time even when they are not yet inside the aerospace border of our country,” Ri said.

A White House spokesman said Monday the Trump administration had no reaction to the comments.

The ongoing war of words between the two nations saw several new fiery salvos on Saturday, a day on which the US military, in a show of force, flew bombers in international airspace over waters east of North Korea.

Speaking at the UN on Saturday, Ri said that Trump had made a missile attack on the US mainland inevitable by insulting the dignity of North Korea.

“None other than Trump himself is on a suicide mission,” Ri said in a speech at the UN General Assembly. “In case innocent lives of the US are harmed because of this suicide attack, Trump will be held totally responsible.”

#TakeAKnee Movement Spreads After Trump Attacks Pro Athletes For Silent Protest

After Donald Trump continued his attack on NFL players who choose to take a knee during the National Anthem, the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday morning announced they will not appear on the field until the ceremony has concluded.

Trump took to Twitter this morning saying owners of NFL teams should fire players who refuse to stand for the National Anthem in a silent protest of racism and injustice.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin broke the news to CBS: “We will not bow on the field. We’re not participating in the anthem today.”

“These are very divisive times for our country. For us, as a football team, it’s about us remaining solid. We are not going to be divided by anything said by anyone. That’s the thing that I posted to our guys. I said, ‘If you feel the need to do anything, I’m going to be supportive of that. As Americans, you have that right.’ But whatever we do, we’re gonna do 100 percent, we’re gonna do together. We’re not gonna let divisive times or divisive individuals affect our agenda. This collection of men, we’re chasing something here in 2017, and we’re not gonna play politics with football players, with football coaches.”

“We’re not participating in the anthem today. Not to be disrespectful to the anthem, to remove ourselves from the circumstance. People shouldn’t have to choose. If a guy wants to go about his normal business and participate in the anthem, he shouldn’t be forced to choose sides. If a guy feels the need to do something, he shouldn’t be separated from his teammate who chooses not to. So we’re not participating today. That’s our decision. We’re gonna be 100 percent. We came here to play a football game. That’s our intentions, and we’re going to play and play to win.”

And over in London, where the Jaguars and the Ravens are playing, players linked arms in solidarity.

This is quite moving to see these men stand together on principle.

And it got bigger from there. Via USAToday:

Several players from the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons were among those who chose not to stand for the anthem. The Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets stood with arms locked, though some players from those teams chose to kneel.

And now the movement has spread to Major League Baseball as the Oakland A’s catcher, Bruce Maxwell, became the first MLB player to take a knee. Note: Maxwell comes from a military family.

Golden State Warriors, 2017 NBA Champs, Will Not Be Visiting The White House

The Golden State Warriors, 2017 NBA Champions, announced today they will not be visiting the White House.

Instead, they will use their trip to Washington D.C. to celebrate “equality, diversity, and inclusion.”

Via press release:

While we intended to meet as a team at the first opportunity we had this morning to collaboratively discuss a potential visit to the White House, we accept that President Trump has made it clear that we are not invited.

We believe there is nothing more American than our citizens having the right to express themselves freely on matters important to them. We’re disappointed that we did not have an opportunity during this process to share our views or have open dialogue on issues impacting our communities that we felt would be important to raise.

In lieu of a visit to the White House, we have decided that we’ll constructively use our trip to the nation’s capital in February to celebrate equality, diversity, and inclusion – the values that we embrace as an organization.

Trump Doubles Down On NFL Attacks: “Stand For The National Anthem Or Get Fired”

Athletically-challenged Donald Trump doubled down on his attacks on NFL players who choose to take a knee during the playing of the national anthem before football games saying they should “find something else to do!”

“If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL, or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect….our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU’RE FIRED. Find something else to do!”

This follows his comments last night at a rally in Alabama where he told the crowd, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b—- off the field right now. He is fired.’”

Mind you, this is all going on while thousands of Americans in Puerto Rico are trying to survive without electric power after being savaged by Hurricane Maria. But Trump is picking fights with football players over 1st Amendment rights.

Just so we’re clear…

NFL Slaps Back At Donald Trump’s Attacks On Players “Taking A Knee”

Donald Trump started a firestorm last night at a rally in Alabama when he attacked NFL football players who take a knee during the national anthem.

From USAToday:

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b—- off the field right now. Out. He’s fired. He’s fired!”

The audience then chanted “USA!”

“You know, some owner’s going to do that,” Trump continued. “He’s going to say, ‘That guy who disrespects our flag, he’s fired.'”

He encouraged fans to walk out of stadiums if they see a player taking a knee in protest.

This is where I should probably point out that “taking a knee” is basically a First Amendment right. The U.S. Constitution protects free speech and freedom of expression.

Let’s see, where have we seen citizens forced to stand and swear allegiance to a flag/country that they don’t feel treats them with justice? Let me think, it’ll come to me… #Hitler #Nazis

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Trump’s “divisive comments” were unacceptable, “showing an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.”

“This union…will never back down when it comes to protecting the constitutional rights of our players as citizens as well as their safety as men who compete in a game that exposes them to great risks,” said DeMaurice Smith, head of the NFL Players Association, via Twitter.

But the best response to Trump’s rant came from Kaepernick’s mom: “Guess that makes me a proud bitch!”

Donald Trump Rants At Sen. John McCain Over Healthcare Vote

Donald Trump went on a morning Twitter rant attacking Sen. John McCain for his “no” vote on the currently proposed Cassidy-Graham bill to “repeal and replace” Obamacare.

McCain announced yesterday that he opposes the legislation because it wasn’t going through the Senate via normal order with hearings and committee meetings. He voted against the last version of healthcare reform for the same reason.

McCain has said publicly that he wants to see Democrats and Republicans work together on healthcare legislation so they can “get it right.”

Along the way, Trump also took some swipes at Republican Sens. Rand Paul and Lisa Murkowski. Paul is a confirmed “no” on the legislation while Murkowski appears to be leaning “no.”
