Rush Limbaugh: First Lady Michelle Obama is fat

Today, on his radio show, Rush Limbaugh made fun of First Lady Michelle Obama as over-weight while he perused a picture from last night’s state dinner with French President Francois Hollande.

“There is Michelle Obama and the $12,000 gown by Carolina Herrera, and the French president Hollande is in the middle, and there’s Obama. You’ll notice that this dress is bigger than the president of France.

“Here, let me make one more adjustment here and I’ll show you this again. Take a look at that picture. The little guy in the middle is the socialist dictator — well, not dictator. He’s the socialist president of France.

“On the left, that’s not Oprah. Don’t confuse that. That’s Michelle Obama. I saw a picture of this from the rear. That’s why I thought it was Oprah. I did.”

Limbaugh and other right wing conservative nuts are very, very perturbed that the Obamas hosted a formal state dinner while the president campaigns against income inequality.

Now – those inconvenient facts that right wingers don’t like to acknowledge:

Last night’s event was only the 6th state dinner during the Obama’s time in the White House.

Ronald Reagan hosted 35 state dinners during his two terms.

The first President Bush held more than 20 state dinners in his one term in office.

George Zimmerman/DMX “celebrity boxing match” called off

George Zimmerman and rapper DMX

According to E! Online, the (very bad idea) “celebrity boxing match” between rapper DMX and acquited killer of Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman has been cancelled.

From Eonline.com:

The supposed Celebrity Boxing Match between George Zimmerman and DMX has been canceled, Owner of Celebrity Boxing Damon Feldman announced on Saturday.

“The George Zimmerman fight is canceled I’m sorry for anyone I hurt with this but this was a very big opportunity thank you,” he tweeted.

In a series of follow-up tweets, Feldman explained that there is “more to life than money” and that “people’s feelings meant more to me.”

DMX spokesman Domenick Nati told E! News in a statement: “Damon Feldman has announced that the George Zimmerman fight is cancelled via his Twitter. As previously stated, DMX never agreed to the fight and we thank you for all of the support from DMX’s fans.”

None of DMX’s upcoming concerts will be affected by this decision, Nati added.

E! News confirmed on Wednesday that Zimmerman would face off against the rapper next month and Floyd Mayweather Sr. would act as the referee.

After a series of tweets addressing the cancellation, Feldman quickly deleted all related tweets. Reading further back in his Twitter history, it’s clear he was getting push-back about producing and promoting what many considered a very bad idea.

Right wing blogger Bill Whittle: If you see California license plates, fire mortar rounds at them

Right wing blogger Bill Whittle had the crowd in stitches with this stand-up bit, speaking before Sen. Ted Cruz at a Tea Party rally where the Senator was the keynote speaker:

“I’ve said this several times in Texas before and I’ve said it to Mr. Cruz as a representative of the Texas government, I’ve said it to Gov. (Rick) Perry directly, and now I’m going to say it to you as individual Texas citizens. You will see a lot of cars coming west heading east on Interstate 10, and they’re going to have California license plates on them. Now, if you see these cars pull into rest areas or hotels or restaurants, that’s fine; wave goodbye, make sure they go out on the Louisiana end.

“But if you see them pull off into residential areas, you need to open fire on these vehicles immediately. Immediately. Not with 9mm or AR rounds; you need to put mortars on those things, you cannot take any chances.

“What’s the worst that could happen to you? I mean, honestly, this is Texas, right? You’ll stand in front of a Texas judge, (and) he’ll say, ‘Did you shoot up that car full of Californians?’ You’ll say yes, he’ll say why. You’ll say, ‘Well, your honor, they needed killing.’ And he’ll say, ‘We’ll strike a medal in your honor,’ and off you go.”

Isn’t that hysterical? Fire mortar shells are folks from California? Ah, hahahahaha…

Hahahahahahahahahaha.

I just can’t stop laughing it’s so not funny.

And violent.

Sen. Ted Cruz hires lawyers to renounce Canadian citizenship

Graphic via Politics with Jarred and Dave

Strangely though, immigration lawyers say there is a simple form online to begin that process.  So why the big announcement about “retaining counsel?”

I’m guessing the announcement is more a big show to say “Hey! Look what I’m doing!  I’m becoming more ‘American!’  Can I run for president now?”

Justin Bieber pees in janitor’s mop bucket

From TMZ: a video of Justin Bieber behaving badly in a NYC restaurant kitchen, pissing in janitor buckets, and spraying photos of Bill Clinton with cleaning fluid.

Writes TMZ: “Justin Bieber is an oblivious, self-important little twit who goes out of his way to make the working man’s life miserable — just watch this video of the singer pissing into a restaurant mop bucket … and laughing like he’s the king of the world.”

I’ve never really thought much of this guy – when I was his age we’d have called him a punk – and now I think even less of him.

Anti-gay Rep. Allen West finally concedes failed re-election bid

After two weeks of refusing to accept that vote-counting by officials in St. Lucie County, Florida, favored his opponent Patrick Murphy, including a recount which extended Murphy’s lead, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) conceded the race late Tuesday, Politico reports:

West acknowledged that he couldn’t surmount his 1,904-vote, or 0.58 percent, deficit. That difference was just outside the 0.5 percent threshold to automatically trigger a recount of all votes.

Said West in a statement:

“For two weeks since Election Day, we have been working to ensure every vote is counted accurately and fairly. We have made progress towards that goal, thanks to the dedication of our supporters and their unrelenting efforts to protect the integrity of the democratic process. While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election… I pray he will serve his constituents with honor and integrity, and put the interests of our nation before his own.”

Former AZ state senator claims Colorado victims lacked courage to stop gunman

In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, former GOP Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce criticized the people in the theater for a lack of courage and for not being armed, saying that if they had been, they could have saved lives. “All that was needed is one Courages/Brave [sic] man prepared mentally or otherwise to stop this it could have been done,” he posted:

Pearce is best known for having authored Arizona’s anti-immigrant SB1070. He was exposed just last week for writing hateful, racist emails about Latinos in his state.

Rick Perry supports repeal of NH marriage equality

Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry, pandering to conservatives in New Hampshire, praised legislators in the state for working to repeal the state’s same-sex marriage law.

“As conservatives we believe in the sanctity of life. We believe in the sanctity of traditional marriage,” Perry said at the annual banquet for Cornerstone Action, a conservative advocacy group. “And I applaud those legislators in New Hampshire who are working to defend marriage as an institution between one man and one woman, realizing that children need to be raised in a loving home by a mother and a father.”

In June 2009, New Hampshire became the sixth state to legalize gay marriage. A bill to repeal New Hampshire’s gay marriage law passed a House committee this week.

In August, Perry signed a pledge to support a constitutional amendment against gay marriage.

SRSLY. A candidate for public office campaigning for inequality.

Hank Williams Jr. pulled from Monday Night Football for comparing Obama to Hitler

Hank Williams Jr., the voice famous asking millions of football fans whether they’re ready for some football, has been pulled from tonight’s broadcast of “Monday Night Football” over a comment he made on Fox News this morning.

Williams, who sings the lead-in song to the game each week, criticized the president for his golf summit with House Speaker John Boehner this summer.

“It would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli leader) Benjamin Netanyahu,” Williams told “Fox & Friends.”

This afternoon, ESPN released this statement:

“While Hank Williams, Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast.”
