Road Rage in Hawaii

From the YouTube clip description: “This lady was looking down at something, maybe on her phone or something else but there was a good car and a half length of free space in front of her so I changed lanes (she was completely still, not moving at all waiting for red light to change).

“As I made my turn I could hear the lady’s horn blaring. I looked in my rear view and I could see she was visibly upset. She continued to tail gate me and follow me closely. She then tried to either overtake me or get on the side of me to try and run me off the road. She did this a few times.

“I slowly drove the speed limit and made it to a shopping center near by. At this point the lady continued to follow me and I knew she wasn’t going to let me go so I took out my phone and started recording her. The following is what happened.”

Please note the small child in the woman’s front seat. She’s driving erratically, swerving in traffic and cursing in front of the child.

What a mother!

Scott Lively is super-mad that HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” told the truth about him

Crimes against humanity defendant and current (don’t laugh) Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Scott Lively is waaay upset that John Oliver quoted Mr. Lively (with video, no less) on HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” this past Sunday.

As many folks know, Mr. Lively has spent considerable time and energy traveling the world spreading anti-gay propaganda and supporting laws like the recently passed “Kill The Gays” law in Uganda.  He, of course, denies that he’s anything but loving and compassionate.

You know, Scotty, the problem with technology is what you say is now with us forever. All your anti-gay propaganda captured in “lively” color.

But Mr. Lively has now taken to his personal hate site to rail against Oliver’s extensive truth-telling.

“Friends, On Sunday night I was attacked on HBO’s ‘Last Week Tonight’ a supposed comedy/news show in the mold of The Daily Show.

The host is a Brit named John Oliver.

I find it funny that lefties like John Oliver who pose as humanitarians are the masters at dehumanizing other people through ridicule and never give the subjects of their smears a fair chance to respond.

I’m calling out John Oliver as a liar and a fraud who couldn’t go ten minutes with me in an unscripted, unedited debate. Without his teleprompter and his cheap-shot, out-of-context video clips he would be exposed as just another left-wing loony.

Oliver is lying through selective editing re Rwanda and several other points. His show was one continuous stream of malicious LGBT propaganda in the guise of comedy.

Yes, it will likely negatively affect the voters, as it was intended to do. It’s one more example of the ‘politics of personal destruction’ that Saul Alinsky taught the ‘progressives,’ including journalists, to practice.”

Rochester radio hosts fired for 12 minute transphobic rant on-air

Yesterday I posted about a radio morning show team in Rochester, New York, that went on a 12 minute transphobic rant after reading the news that the city would begin to offer healthcare benefits to transgender people.

The comments between the two radio personalities were extremely vicious and ill-informed. The hosts have now been fired:

“This morning Entercom fired Kimberly and Beck effective immediately,” Entercom Rochester vice president and general manager Sue Munn said in a prepared statement.

“Their hateful comments against the transgender community do not represent our station or our company. We deeply apologize to the transgender community, the community of Rochester, and anyone else who was offended by their comments.

“We are proud of our past work on behalf of the local LGBT community and we remain committed to that partnership.”

Anti-gay Bill Donohue: My ‘Straight Is Great’ banner would have overwhelmed Gay Pride Parade

Catholic League President Bill Donohue came unglued recently when the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade lost sponsors for not allowing openly gay men and women to march in the parade. Apparently, the gays can march only if they “blend in.”

As part of his outrage, he threatened to apply to march in the NYC Gay Pride Parade with his own banner saying “Straight Is Great.” Well, lo and behold, the powers that be at Gay Pride said “please come be a part of our parade.”

But when Donohue was told someone from his contingent would need to attend a training session that instructs every group about safety issues and other practical matters, he used that as his excuse to back out. Watch the clip from Right Wing Watch below. He makes fun of the safety training session and alludes that it’s “gay training.”

The day before Catholic League head and anti-gay activist Bill Donohue announced that he wouldn’t participate in the NYC Pride Parade even though organizers accepted his application to lead a “Straight Is Great” parade contingent, Donohue told conservative talk show host Steve Malzberg that the parade organizers are maneuvering to keep him out of the parade because they are afraid his “Straight Is Great” message will catch on and flood the parade: “They know what they’re opening the door to: what if instead of getting 100 people, what if I get 3,000 people? What if we begin to overwhelm their parade and vetoes their message?”

Donohue said that he withdrew from the parade because he didn’t want to attend required training sessions for all group leaders. “Quite frankly, as a straight guy, I don’t go to gay training sessions,” Donohue said. “I think I’m pretty much an untrainable guy when it comes to this thing.”

GLAAD President Sarah Kate Ellis looks forward to marching in NYC Pride Parade with Bill Donohue

GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis underscores the invitation extended by NYC Pride to Catholic League president Bill Donohue to march in the 2014 NYC Pride parade.

“As a fellow Irish New Yorker, I’m hoping Bill will march with me at NYC Pride. I look forward to the day when I can march openly with Bill in the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and not be turned away because of who I am.”

Tony Perkins happy that Indianapolis gay couple chose to just “move on” after bakery turned them away

Last Friday I posted about an Indianapolis bakery that shared on its Facebook page that it had told a gay couple they would not – due to their deeply held religious beliefs – make the couple a cake for a commitment ceremony.

Now, anti-gay stalwart and hate group leader Tony Perkins has praised the couple for deciding to walk away from the discrimination they faced:

A few weeks ago, the owners of 111 Cakery got a call from Mike Stephens and Shane Laney, a newly “engaged” couple who wanted to hire Randy and Trish to make the cake for their April commitment ceremony. Knowing it could cost them their business — or at the very least, change it forever — the McGaths never wavered. Politely, they explained they couldn’t accept the job.

Although Mike and Shane complained about the decision on social media, they seem content to “move on” and find another bakery without involving local officials. “We found someone that will do it for us, so we’re going to focus on the good,” Mike said. And that’s exactly as it should be. This is how religious liberty and the free market are supposed to work. Instead of forcing Christians to participate in these ceremonies against their will, the customers simply found their service elsewhere.

As with any business policy, the market will vote with their dollars on whether they agree with the McGaths’ position. And as consumers, they should have that right. Tragically, Mike and Shane’s response is an anomaly among those pushing for the redefinition of marriage.

First of all, how does Tony Perkins know just how “politely” the bakery turned down the request?

And second, Tony Perkins’ says the gay couple did exactly as they should – in the face of discrimination they should turn around, quietly walk out and “move on.” Don’t make a fuss, guys. Just “move on.”

I should note that Indiana has no statewide public accommodation protection for LGBT citizens.

Indianapolis, however, does have citywide LGBT discrimination protections. It is against the law to refuse public accommodations based on sexual orientation in Indianapolis.

Tony Perkins does not care about the law.

Or, rather, Tony Perkins doesn’t care about THIS law.

Westboro Baptist Church: We don’t need Fred Phelps to hate

“The church of the Lord Jesus Christ does not rise or fall with any man – in fact, the Lord doesn’t need ANY of us.

“This is still a nation and world awash in sin. We will still warn you of this condition, out of our love and fear of the Lord, and out of our love for our neighbors.

“Here is the message of Westboro Baptist Church: God still hates fags, God still hates fag enablers and any nation that embraces that sin as an ‘innocent’ lifestyle can expect to incur the wrath of God. Repent or Perish.” – Westboro Baptist Church, in a statement posted to their website.

Former Puerto Rico Sen. Roberto Arango finally comes out of the closet

Former Senator of Puerto Rico and Grindr fan Roberto Arango

I was just thinking about this douchebag yesterday.

Longtime readers will remember the scandal back in August of 2011 when Puerto Rico’s Sen. Roberto Arango, who chaired the local 2004 campaign to reelect George W. Bush, has been found showing his anus (NSFW) on the gay hook-up site Grindr.

Arango acknowledged that the photos were of him, but says he was merely posting images to show off his recent weight loss.  IN HIS ANUS.

Well, now Arango – who in 2009 voted in favor of an amendment to Puerto Rico’s constitution to ban the recognition of same-sex marriages and opposed to civil union bills – has come out.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, now we know why he was sending selfies of his anus. And it wasn’t to show off his “weight loss.”

You can’t make this stuff up.

Stephen Colbert asks gays to send proof of “self-professed behavior” to Rep. Steve King’s office

Yesterday, I wrote about Rep. Steve King talking on the veto of Arizona’s SB1062 and the fact that he felt we don’t need protections for LGBT folks.

In discussing the issue of discrimination of gays and lesbians, he referred to homosexuality as “self-professed behavior” which in his eyes was difficult to prove. King further alluded that perhaps gays aren’t gay at all.

From Mediaite:

This past weekend, King told local TV station WHO-TV that these “self-professed” gays could just as easily be straight people “setting up a case” against a business that tries to discriminate them. Colbert recounted that familiar scenario in which someone pretends to come to their family, then pretends to fall in love, then pretends to get engaged, just so they can sue their potential florist at the last minute.

“As Steve King knows, even if gays do exist, it’s nearly impossible to prove it,” Colbert said. That’s why he’s asking gays from around the country to “send photos and/or videos to Steve King, proving that you are gay.” He went ahead and provided to address on screen to make it that much easier for everyone.

“Be sure to label your envelope campaign contributions, so you know that he’ll read it,” Colbert added.
