Report: Shots Fired At White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Donald Trump and other White House officials were evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner after shots appeared to be fired in the lobby.

No injuries have been reported and there’s no confirmation Trump was a target.

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer reported from the scene that he was near the shooter, who appeared to be armed with “a major weapon,” when officers threw him to the ground.

How would someone get a “major weapon” inside the venue where there were so many high-ranking officials?

Story still unfolding.

Even amid the chaos, Trump posted to social media, “The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we “LET THE SHOW GO ON” but, will entirely be guided by Law Enforcement.”

Twenty minutes later he posted, “Law Enforcement has requested that we leave the premises, consistent with protocol, which we will do, immediately.”

Oddly enough, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told reporters earlier in the evening “there will be shots fired.”
