This seems pretty ‘on brand’ for news coming out of Trump Land. Donald Trump’s nominee for Defense Secretary, Fox News personality Pete Hegseth, was reportedly investigated as part of a 2017 sexual assault incident in California, according to police.

From The Hill:
The Monterey Police Department confirmed an investigation of an “alleged sexual assault” at a home in the city in October 2017 between the late night hours and early morning.
A summary of the police report said the victim suffered a contusion to their right thigh, but the city did not release the report or additional details. The city did not indicate charges were filed in the case, nor name Hegseth as the aggressor.
Vanity Fair reported that Trump’s incoming chief of staff, Susie Wiles, along with attorneys, spoke with Hegseth about the sexual assault allegation Thursday. He described the allegation as a consensual encounter and a classic case of “he-said, she-said.”
The alleged assault took place in 2017, which also happened to be the year Hegseth had a child with his mistress – a married mom of three – while he was still married to his 2nd wife (whom he’d cheated on his first wife with). https://t.co/XhHmaEXE30
