Back in 2008, I choreographed a production of HELLO, DOLLY! at Houston’s Theater Under The Stars starring Tony Award winner Leslie Uggams and directed by Lee Roy Reams.

I came across this audio recording today and tons of very happy memories came flooding back.

Mamdani Appoints Trans Woman To Head New NYC Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is set to sign an executive order today that will officially establish the first-ever Mayor’s Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs.

Florida Passes Bill Allowing Governor To Remove Elected Officials For ‘Promoting’ Pride

On Tuesday, the Florida state legislature approved SB 1134, which will prohibit all local authorities from “promoting” or “adopting” initiatives concerning diversity, equity, and inclusion like Pride events—and prevents any recipients of municipal contracts or grants from doing likewise.

Because the language of the bill is “vague by design,” it creates a chilling effect where local leaders may preemptively cut all ties to the LGBTQ community to avoid the risk of executive suspension. • MSN: A Los Angeles County engineer sued his employer for refusing to let him work from home in June, when the LGBTQ Pride flag will be flown from the building where he works. His employers told him to take the back entrance to the building that month. He was also advised to seek mental health counseling. LOL…
