Labor Department: The U.S. economy added 178,000 jobs in March, while the number for February was revised down from a net loss of 92,000 jobs to a loss of 133,000 jobs. The unemployment rate inched down to 4.3 percent.

while the March job numbers came in better than expected, the revision to February’s numbers was significantly downward. 133,000 jobs lost just that month.

Washington Post: Another U.S. aircraft, an A-10 attack plane, was hit today by Iranian fire. The pilot navigated the plane into Kuwaiti airspace before ejecting and being rescued. Additionally, two U.S. search-and-rescue helicopters also were attacked. Earlier this week, Donald Trump declared Iran’s defenses were “obliterated.”

AP News: The White House is asking Congress to approve about $1.5 trillion for defense in the 2027 fiscal year, which would set a record for military spending in modern history. The proposed increase would be partly offset by steep cuts to key federal health, housing and education programs.
