Some news items I thought worth your time: • Instinct Magazine: Out Australian footballer Joshua Cavallo (above) has received numerous death threats since coming out as gay in 2021, but still says it’s the best decision he’s ever made. • Queerty: New York City’s iconic Barracuda Lounge, a gay fixture in Chelsea for three decades, has announced it will close its doors on Sunday, March 23.
The Chelsea institution is the home of the longest-running drag talent competition in New York.

• New York Times: Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy agreed in a phone call with Donald Trump to accept Russia’s offer of a mutual pause in attacks on energy targets for 30 days as a step toward a broader cease-fire. • Attitude Magazine: The provocative gay drama Sebastian follows a young writer who embarks on a double life as a sex worker to research his debut novel. Ruaridh Mollica was nominated for ‘Best Breakthrough Performance’ at the British Independent Film Awards for his work. • Politico: The Trump administration is slashing the State Department’s annual human rights report omitting sections on the rights of the LGBTQ community, the disabled, women and more. The annual report is widely read in capitals around the world, and relied upon heavily by advocacy organizations. • LGBTQ Nation: A bill in the Arkansas legislature would allow anyone to sue any barber or hairdresser who gave a young trans person a haircut that would affirm their gender identity.
We reported on this a few days ago, but I want to point out this headline because this is where we are at.
