U.S. gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik had a moment for the Olympic history books last night as he helped the U.S. men’s gymnastic team score its first medal at the Olympic Games in 16 years. Nedoroscik wasn’t happy with how his gymnastics were progressing, so he decided to become what’s known as a “specialist.” He focused on one apparatus – the pommel horse – and became so good he made this year’s U.S. men’s gymnastic team to represent on that one event.
Last night, at the team finals, he cheered his team mates through the first five rotations, giving them high fives, getting water for them, and meditating. And then, in the final rotation, he went last. Off with the glasses, this is a job for Superman. Hit the play button in the tweet below. Click here to watch in widescreen on YouTube.

Nedoroscik took an untraditional path to get to the pinnacle of his sport and it paid off with an Olympic Bronze medal. The lesson here is there’s no one path to finding your purpose, there’s no one way to success. Sometimes, when we live life our way – authentically us – we remember that not all super heroes wear capes. Everyone on the U.S. Men’s Gymnastic team brought their best and contributed to the moment. Congrats to you all.
