Some news items you might have missed: • The Hill: A campaign spokesman for Vice President Kamala Harris said that Harris will be at the Sept. 10 debate hosted by ABC News — to which Trump and President Biden had both previously agreed — regardless of Trump’s attendance. • The Advocate: Sofia Nelson, a former classmate and close friend of Sen. JD Vance, has shared over 90 emails and text messages between the two which show Vance supported Nelson’s transition as transgender, called Trump “a disaster,” and declared “I hate the police.”

• New York Times: Text messages show law enforcement officers and Secret Service agents were aware of Thomas Crooks and his suspicious behavior more than 90 minutes before he fired on Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, PA. • Meidas Touch: President Biden has endorsed major reforms to the Supreme Court including 18-year term limits for Supreme Court Justices; stripping immunity from any former President for federal crimes; and adopting an enforceable code of conduct for Justices.

• QVegas: • USA Today: A USA TODAY analysis found at least five contributors to Project 2025 have a history of racist writing or statements, or white supremacist activity. Project 2025 is a 900+ page manifesto that seeks to create an ultra-conservative blueprint for a possible second Trump presidency. • AZ Central: Republican Mayor John Giles of Mesa, Arizona, has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president. Giles criticized Donald Trump for trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election and blocking the bipartisan immigration bill in the Senate this past spring. He added that “we can’t have a felon representing us on the national stage.” In related news, four Arizona border mayors also endorsed Harris for prez.
