“What About Me?” is a bold, short-form dark comedy series about queer grief, identity and Hollywood absurdity.
Synopsis:
“What About Me?” follows Josh, a bakery supervisor—and the lesser-known twin brother of Jake, a wildly successful Hollywood actor. When Jake dies suddenly, Josh is forced to confront his grief, his identity, and a family that never quite understood him.
From dodging a synagogue memorial to escaping into hookup apps, Josh’s journey through the five stages of grief is at once laugh-out-loud funny and deeply moving.
Created by Josh Nadler—who also stars—the show blends raw vulnerability with biting Hollywood satire. Think Transparent meets The Other Two, with a Queer heart and a comedic twist.
The series is both a celebration of LGBTQ identity and an honest look at the ways we process loss, family dysfunction, addiction, and personal reinvention.
Nadler shares in a press statement:
“We all experience grief—sometimes through death, sometimes through identity shifts, or letting go of the life we thought we’d have.”
“In 2018, I lost my own brother. We were total opposites—he liked Blink 182, I was more Britney Spears—but in losing him, I realized how alike we actually were.”
“That’s what this show is about: the strange, funny, and sometimes beautiful ways grief reshapes us.”
All six episodes are streaming free on YouTube through June 30 in celebration of Pride Month.
