New Podcast: ‘Amusing(s)’…And Guess Who’s The 1st Guest?

I’d like to introduce you to “Amusing(s),” a brand-new podcast/conversation on “all things fantastic, challenging, beautiful, awkward, creative, and inspiring in every corner of the hospitality industry by shining a light on the people who make it so amusing.” The twist here is that in each episode, one of the three hosts – Lesly Birkner, Adrea Gibbs, and Rachel Harper – reveals a mystery guest to the others, and what ensues are authentic conversations with folks who “humanize hospitality and discuss the antics, stories, lessons, and general amusing(s) that come when serving others.” I’m honored and flattered to share that I was asked to be the first guest on “Amusing(s).” Here’s the show notes for the episode:

Meet Randy Slovacek –

We are amused by a dachshund dynasty, good attitudes, and peace over ego.

Get ready for the premiere episode of Amusing(s) where Adrea introduces Lesly and Rachel to the one and only Randy Slovacek.

He’s not just your average guy – he’s a Broadway performer, journalist, podcaster, and ruler of a dachshund dynasty with his amazing husband.

Randy is also a political and pop culture guru with a focus on all things LGBTQ. He knows how to use a comma and is not intimidated by a semicolon, folks.

Check out his brilliant work at The Randy Report and The Randy Report Podcast.

If you listen to The Randy Report podcast, you know I generally focus on LGBTQ news and interview guests. Take a listen below to learn a bit about me on a more personal level – how I became a journalist, the dogs of my life, and how I came to choose peace over ego. I also want to add that one of the hosts, Adrea, has been a friend for years and years going back to my CATS national tour days. Not only is she a terrific performer in her own right, but she’s also a part of Meow Wolf, which created the amazing “art installation” called Omega Mart here in Las Vegas – the coolest experience in Las Vegas. Congrats to the ladies of “Amusing(s)” on their terrific new podcast. They’re not only smart, but they really listen to their guests and come back with thoughtful questions in the moment. Not everyone knows how to do that. You can find more episodes here.
