Kirk Cameron (screen capture) Former actor Kirk Cameron finally found a public library he could pay to rent a room in order to hold a reading of his new Christian children’s book on Thursday evening. While his publisher, Brave Books, is all over social media today boasting of “over 2,500” attendees, the Indianapolis Public Library is disputing those claims saying their head count was around 750. https://twitter.com/indylibrary/status/1608832073426685956 Indianapolis Public Library also noted some errors in the publisher’s tweet. While Brave Books claimed it was the largest event ever in Indianapolis Public Library’s history, the official Twitter account for IPL countered, “We’ve had larger events.” Brave Books also got the age of the IPL system wrong saying “in 137 years of the Indianapolis Public Library’s history….” IPL countered, “We turn 150 yrs old in 2023.” And in his own tweet, Cameron claimed the library’s auditorium “that seats 2,000 people but leadership never offered it to us….” IPL writes, “Our auditorium, which our guests chose not to rent, holds 300, not 2000.” The former “Growing Pains” actor has been trying to gin up attention for his book by attacking drag queen story hours held at public libraries. He says libraries book those events but showed no interest in a reading hour with his book.
Wait a minute.. so christian Kirk Cameron held an event for his traditional values book & totally lied about attendance and his communications with the library/event site? NOT a good look for traditional values book author & christian, Kirk.
