House Speaker Mike Johnson is delaying the swearing in of Representative-Elect Adelita Grijalva, who just won the race for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District on Tuesday in an expected landslide.

She will be the final signature necessary—218 members—for the discharge petition to force a vote in the House on demanding the DOJ release the Epstein files.
And so, Johnson – who doesn’t want to see the Epstein files released – is finding new reasons to slow walk Grijalva’s swearing-in.
From Meidas News:
Johnson is claiming he wants to wait until her election results are official, despite Grijalva’s dominant 40-point win and Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes certifying her victory.
Johnson’s new standard of waiting for all the votes to be counted was not in place two weeks ago when he swore in Democrat James Walkinshaw of Virginia with unofficial results immediately after his victory.
Johnson has also routinely sworn in Republicans the day after their race is called.
You really have to wonder why they are so afraid of those Epstein files…
Grijalva: I was looking at the example of now-Representative Walkinshaw from Virginia, who was elected two weeks ago Tuesday. The following Wednesday—less than 24 hours later—he was sworn in, with unofficial results.
So for me, apparently the rules have now changed in just two… pic.twitter.com/B5KrRsBxjj
