John Schneider Calls For Hanging The President, Secret Service Opens Probe

Former Dukes of Hazzard actor John Schneider is having a moment this week. Just hours after losing in the season finale of The Masked Singer (revealed as “Donut”), Schneider took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to call for the hanging of President Biden and his son, Hunter. He quickly deleted the post, but, of course, the internet is forever. When asked about the social media post, Schneider denies his message had anything to do with violence. “I neither said nor implied any such thing,” Schneider told Deadline. “Despite headlines claiming otherwise, in my post, I absolutely did not call for an act of violence or threaten a U.S. president as many other celebrities have done in the past. I suggest you re-read my actual post and pay attention to the words before believing this nonsense.” https://twitter.com/DEADLINE/status/1737967884981440555 But the Secret Service has other thoughts. The federal agency opened a probe into statements the former Dukes of Hazzard star made online against the President and his son Hunter Biden, Deadline has learned.

“We look at all threats against our protectees and, due to intent, this falls under the definition of a threat,” a law enforcement insider informed Deadline Thursday.

You do have to wonder, though, if Schneider saw nothing wrong in his post, why did he delete it? Also – comedian Kathy Griffin was cancelled when in 2017 she posted a photo of a mask covered in ketchup with no words or written message. Not only did the Secret Service show up at her house, she was put on the No Fly list. And even though she issued a public apology, she was terrorized by far-right nuts. Will Schneider get the same treatment when he literally called for the hanging of the president?
