It Gets Better Project Funding 50 Grants In 50 States For LGBTQ Students

If you had up to $10,000 to make school better for LGBTQ+ students, what would you do? The It Gets Better Project wants to help answer that question with a new school-based grant initiative, 50 States. 50 Grants. 5,000 Voices. https://twitter.com/ItGetsBetter/status/1458487117214982148 Through the new initiative, grants of up to $10K each will be awarded to at least one middle and/or high school in every US state, including US territories, and funds will support projects to uplift and support the wellbeing of local LGBTQ+ students. Applications for grant opportunities open today, and faculty advisors, educators, or school administrators can apply in partnership with queer (LGBTQ+) students ages 13-18 by preparing a proposal at www.itgetsbetter.org/50states50grants. Potential projects could be: • Build an LGBTQ+ section for books and other resources in your school library • Paint a mural or other art installation in your school highlighting local LGBTQ+ history • Launch your school’s first GSA • Organize a school float for your city’s Pride Parade …or be creative and think outside the box!
