• New Republic: The Tennessee House of Representatives has passed a bill that would allow people to refuse to “solemnize” a marriage if they disagree with it. The bill could allow county clerks to deny marriage licenses to same-sex, interfaith, or interracial couples.
• Human Rights Watch: A bill introduced in Uganda’s Parliament criminalizing same-sex conduct and sexual and gender identity calls for a ten-year prison sentence for publicly saying that you are anything but heterosexual. It also defines all same-sex acts as non-consensual.

• NBC News: The city prosecutor in Newport News, Virginia, said that he would not seek charges against the 6-year-old boy who shot his elementary school teacher in January. No decision has been made in regard to whether any adults associated with the case could be held criminally liable.
• Politico: A man convicted of credit card skimming in Seattle in 2017 and deported to Brazil has submitted a sworn declaration to federal authorities alleging that truth-challenged Rep. George Santos orchestrated the operation.
