From The Washington Post:
The high-profile hearing lasted a little more than three hours as U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika asked a series of questions that revealed a major disagreement between federal prosecutors and Biden’s lawyers over whether the deal would protect him from the possibility of additional criminal charges.
The unexpected complication marked another twist in a case that has been clouded for years by questions about possible political bias, prosecutorial delay, and debate over whether Hunter Biden was being treated too harshly or too gently because of his father’s status as a former vice president and, later, president.
The deal Hunter Biden agreed to in June meant he would stay out of jail if he stays drug-free for two years.
There are reports the prosecutors and Biden’s attorneys are getting the deal back on track but with a “much more limited in scope” deal.
