Some news items I thought worth your time as we head over Hump Day:
• Instinct Magazine: Set to David Bowie’s iconic track “Fame,” the new Peloton ad featuring Heated Rivalry’s Hudson Williams pulses with a retro-meets-modern energy: confident, cheeky, and just self-aware enough to keep it fun.
• LGBTQ Nation: Tennessee lawmakers have passed the Charlie Kirk Act, which will punish students who protest anti-LGBTQ speakers on college campuses. Violations could lead to probation, suspension, or expulsion for both students and faculty members. So much for free speech…
• What To Watch: Set in the ’90s, the new coming-of-age comedy Screams From The Tower follows two closeted gay friends whose lives change when they host their school’s radio show. Available for streaming on demand on Apple TV, Prime Video, Dekkoo, and more.
• The Advocate: A federal appeals has handed trans students in Minnesota a significant legal victory, allowing the state to keep enforcing a policy that lets high school athletes compete consistent with their gender identity.
• MetroWeekly: Thomas Niehaus, 52, has pleaded guilty to setting Pride flags on fire in several Cincinnati neighborhoods last summer. During his first court appearance, Niehaus shouted “Fighting for the children!”
