‘Heated Rivalry’ Season Finale + Another Actor Sues Tyler Perry + More

It’s a beautiful Saturday in Las Vegas, so I’m heading to the dog park with the pups in a little while, but first, some news items for you:

Entertainment Weekly: Following the “bigness” of episode 5, Heated Rivalry  crescendoed into touching intimacy in the season finale. Show creator Jacob Tierney and stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie chat on many episode highlights including a touching “toe” moment and why Tierney chose to close the season with “a pretty big swing.”

OUT: Tyler Perry has been sued by another aspiring actor for alleged sexual assault.

LGBTQ Nation: An HIV expert at the Centers for Disease Control was asked to scrub data on trans people. He quit instead.

Law & Crime: A law passed in 2022 to requires the architect of the U.S. Capitol Complex to install a memorial plaque honoring police officers who protected the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. It’s still not installed. Oh – and convicted rioters say any such plaque should “recognize the experiences” of the pro-Donald Trump mob responsible for the riot.

The Daily Beast: Not content with his Kennedy Center takeover by slapping his own name on the building, Donald Trump is now threatening a tacky marble makeover.

FactCheck.org: The detail-oriented folks at FactCheck.org compiled a list of Trump’s biggest whoppers of 2025 including claiming Portland was “burning to the ground,” declaring Ukraine should have “never started” the ongoing war with Russia (umm, Russia invaded Ukraine). and DOGE distortions.
