• Gayety: The upcoming Heartstopper Forever, the film finale set to wrap Nick and Charlie’s story, will move forward without Academy Award winner Olivia Colman, who played Nick’s mother in the first two seasons. Anna Maxwell Martin will step into the role for the film.
• The Advocate: Apple has announced that Tim Cook, one of the most powerful gay men in business, will step down as CEO later this year.
Although Cook has said he is “not a political person,” in 2025 he presented Donald Trump with a custom glass plaque mounted on a 24-karat gold base and attended a White House screening of Melania, a documentary about the first lady.

Tim Cook donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration.
He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions).
Apple donated to Trump’s White House ballroom.
And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores following a demand from the DOJ.

• Erin in the Morning: A federal judge has vacated the Kennedy Declaration, which threatened to revoke all federal funding from any hospital or provider that offered gender-affirming care for transgender youth. The ruling applies nationwide, eliminating the legal basis that roughly 40 hospitals cited when they shut down their trans youth care programs earlier this year.

• Playbill: Nominations for the 2026 Drama League Awards, recognizing the best of Broadway and Off-Broadway, were revealed this morning. Winners will be announced at a May 15 ceremony at the Ziegfeld Ballroom. Full list at the link.
• NPR: The satirical website, The Onion, has a new deal to take over Infowars, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s far-right media company. If approved by a Texas judge, the deal would take away his Infowars microphone, and allow The Onion to turn the website into a parody of itself.
